personally I hope that they dont make it out of the playoffs and then NP gets fired. Then they sell chris woods to us cos he is a class act, I then hope that they make it out next year without np holding them back. Im not bitter.
I don't have any hatred towards Leicester. I think their Manager is a ****, but I only think that because of the shabby way he departed company with us. I stongly dislike Newcastle, simply because of their whinging fans who still blame us for their demise from Premier League status, rather than their team who couldn't beat us in three outings (inc cup). It shows how thick they are up there as simple maths shows they were relegated for 1 point and had they beaten us in one of the league games, we would have gone and not them! Now Burnley, Burnley is a team a truely do hate! Every time we play them they get something from us, usually because of some inept decision by an official. It is almost as though they have bunged them a wad to give some of the rediculous decisions they have over the games we have played in the last few years! They really are our bogey side and I hope that we can finally break that curse on 11th March!! UTT
I live in the NE and when I can't make the journey to Hull I sometimes go to a Mackem game (always space), less often to the Maggie's! Life's a box of chocolates and I will always be grateful to Newcastle for being ****e in our first PL season - all 6 points and a notch in our FA Cup run!
Spot on, I think Leicester are a good team but I don't like admitting it because they are managed by Nigel Pearson
Hate is just far too strong a word - I certainly dislike some football teams but it's usually a temporary thing. Examples would be the Ian Dowie Crystal Palace team that came here a few years back, wasted time from the first minute, fell over and claimed free kicks at every tackle, pinched a narrow victory with their only shot and then claimed it had been a display of Premier League quality; DQPR in the Tarabt gloves off era; Sheff Wed this season with their whingeing manager and rather desparate, overly physical tactics etc... Leicester are certainly promotion rivals this season, their game is based upon playing good football, have a good (but not great) manager and have a similar cross section of supporters with a slight tendency to arrogance on occasions (often very dismissive of teams like Peterborough for some reason). Overall they're preetty much like us.
To be honest, I think most of it comes out of boredom. Our biggest "rivals", Forest, Derby and Coventry, have bugger all fans on this board. If they had as many posters on here as you, our time would be spent on their boards instead. I'm not sure if it would be like this if Pearson didn't leave you for us. I know everyone is over it, but that's how it started, and we've kind of stuck ever since, especially (as someone previously mentioned) we seem to be battling for the same spots recently. I'm certain that if we were opposite ends of the league, we would hardly be on eachothers boards. Just my opinion, mind.
What? I'm saying that if there were actually posters on the Forest, Derby, and Coventry boards, we would probably be there rather than on here.
Leicester City: Don't bother me, good side, only dislike them as promotion rivals, have no actual hatred towards them. Nigel Pearson: twat. Very unlikeable.
reading between the lines of what you actually said.............. you wish more people were on your boards............ a bit like ours, IF there were more on Forest, Derby and Coventry boards LIKE Hulls, you would be on theirs instead.
Sorry, that was before my time, I just assumed that was the catalyst. Good for you, let's hope, for your sake, there isn't another storm in Hull which knocks it down again
All this talk of hate. Just remember this: "Don't give in to hate. That leads to the dark side". "Once you start down the dark path forever will it dominate your destiny". (Yoda)
Personally if Leicester only managed the playoffs and we went automatically i wouldn't care either way. If Leicester won the playoffs then good for them and our Banter would continue, however if they didn't i would just love to see the look on Nigels Boring face
It's actually not Leicester itself, it's the manager. If Pearson had done the same and ****ed off to another team, for example Bristol City, then they'd be considered rivals. It's not the Club. The rivalry is with Pearson, though admittedly I couldn't give a toss about him anymore. Bruce is twice the manager Pearson was. The Leicester fans like feeling noticed and so try to fuel the 'rivarly' themselves.
I detest Stoke City fans. They were complete knob-jockeys when we were vying for promotion last time and were uber ****s when we were in the Prem together. All that Delilah **** and noisiest fans bollocks really winds me up. In fact the only other club who's fans I dislike more is Arsenal - just complete tools. I'd love to see them fail miserably. Completely indifferent to Leicester, but like to get one over on the manager. My hope is that if we do both make it out of the Championship, they don't turn into Stoke type pricks.
No, hate takes too much effort, and there's nothing to hate anyhow. Nige...no, I respect him in fact. If it hadn't been for him, we'd not be where we are now.He set the foundations in place that SB has built on, and as evidenced by Leicesters goal difference, is not boring either. I liked his gruff "**** you" attitude when dealing with the press, especially Humberside, he had a job to do, and he got on with it. He got offered frankly silly money to do the same job somewhere else, and took it. He owed us nowt, and did the best for himself and his family. Fair play to him and good luck to him, as long as we finish above them, I'm neutral about LCFC's success or otherwise.
No not at all. Pearson left us for what he thought was a better job at the time. Same I don't think City have any real big rivals. I don't care about Leeds. I think it makes us look really small time. Historically our big rivals have been Sheff Utd and Boro. But we're not there biggest rivals. I never got the whole hatred towards Scunny, they're a small club. Its not a big deal to me if we beat them and Grimsby we haven't played a league game since 1987.
