I thought it best to clarify my thoughts on a thread that has been closed.

So if I have offended anyone, please give yourself an uppercut because you really don't know me AND or have read my post thoroughly.

Point -1 ..... I am a born & bred Aussie with an English heritage. I married an Italian lass 32 years ago and I'm proud to say that we are still happily married with 3 adult children and a grandson. My daughters husband is Polish. I think the world of him, his parents and heritage.

Many of my mates from my school days and now, were and are Italian. I also have mates from other cultural backgrounds.

Do I give a toss what colour they are or where they are from .... NO ! Why ? Cause I'm not bloody racist, get it!

It is only the Bleeding Hearts Society' that look for an excuse to call ......... Racists. Why, because maybe they like or agree to what is being said.

Point -2 .... My whole point was to make mention of towns & cities that have changed dramatically, for the worst.

Consider this ........... If our mate 'KiwiQPR' wishes to visit China to see the people and their culture and he gets there to see the 'great wall of china' has been pull down to make way for a pub, to cater for us Aussies, who have overtaken the place in the last five years.

    Get my point!

I said I do not like areas changing their face .............. history / peoples cultures, of all countries is very important and that should never be removed.
Equally so, the general make up of an area should be retained.

Point -3 ..... Oh, so I've conveniently gone back just a hundred or two hundred years. YES, that right .................. do you really want me to go back when the English, French, Swiss and a like, travelled the world to conquer countries. Maybe I can go back to Jesus .......... he was an Aussie, right?
As I said, get a life!

Again, my whole point was the modern day history / cultures.

I am a Bomber Command researcher ................ Bomber Command wiped out nearly every city in Germany during WW2. Apart from the loss of life, another sad fact was the buildings and architecture that was made to rubble. I could go on ............ but I won't.

Lastly, to Queens. mate ........... I've noticed over a period of time that you are extremely sensitive to any comment about heritage or people in general.
Mate, I can only say, "Chill out".......... we are not out to get you or anyone else. As I said, I could give a 'rats arse' what colour or religion you or anyone else is. We support the same team and that is all that is required, not to mention that I endeavour to treat everyone, equal.

If that means putting **** on someone or something, to make a point and or it is warranted, then so be it.

Now let's get back to football ............ or soccer, as we Aussies call it ................. no, let's keep it at football.:emoticon-0100-smile

I agree with you on the people coming in a changing the history thing. That is what the Spanish have done to us, though the attempt (massively succeeded in some parts) to wipe Catalunya off the planets history is intentional, to this day they still try to do it. I have no problem with foreigners moving to Catalunya in fact I'd go as far as to say I love immigrants from anywhere in the world, but one thing myself and other Catalans ask is that Catalan history and culture be respected, protected and embraced as we have enough of a fight on our hands keeping it thanks to our so called 'country men' from Madrid. I don't think what I have said can be considered racist and I don't see how what you have said can be either

    hi Cristòfol
how is it in your area with unemployment, it seems pretty bad in Spain at the moment
do you agree that these immigrants should been given work ahead of locals who are desperate for employment

Can't disagree with any of that tbh. I don't think anything you said was overtly racist, but, as I said on the closed thread, as soon as this subject is discussed and an individual questions a multi-cultural society and immigration they immediately get labelled as racist by some.
I believe that immigration has made Britain richer and more diverse. I also believe that the multi-cultural policy has, in some ways and in some instances led to ghettos, with immigrants failing to integrate in any way. I don't think that's healthy and leads to unrest among the indigenous population. (Now wait and see how long it is before I'm accused of being racist!).

Not actually home at the moment (do a bit of traveling) but a lot of my family have lost their jobs and can't get any work so I'm aware of the situation. As for immigrants getting work I'm not sure, I certainly don't hold it against non locals and as it happens I have friends who have been forced out of the country and are now working abroad, in Britain some of them actually and there is I'm sure local Brits who were qualified for the jobs my friends have got instead so it's all a bit of a crappy circle Europe are in. If someone can't get work at home but can in another country I think they are well in their rights to go for it but can also understand those who perhaps don't think non locals getting jobs over them is fair.
I guess I just prefer to aim my frustrations at government and banks

The only thing i would point out Col is that if you were an immigrant who came to a foreign country where you are attacked, abused and called all the names under the sun by the local population....then would you still try to integrate ?? Or would you stick to your own kind ??

Col's post is well expressed, and your qualification is fair, Staines. What worries me is when we throw open the doors to Bulgaria and Romania next year. Nothing against their individual citizens, but the society is very poor and we're going to see immigration in huge numbers. Their society is plagued by organised crime, just like Sicilian people were and still are plagued by the Mafia. We'll be importing that here like a virus.

I can understand your concerns mate and of course you might be right, but i don't know if you remembered the scare stories when we gave back HKG to the Chinese ?? Papers said we had 3 million on their way to take our jobs and houses (The NF ran a campaign at the time against the migration) and did it happen ??
Same with the Poles.....Yes many have come over here but trust me...a lot have returned after finding it isnt the land of milk and honey it was claimed to be. And the ones who are staying here are mostly (not excusively) doing jobs that the indiginous population seem to think is beneath them (Cleaners etc).

As Public Enemy once sang.........'Don't believe the Hype'

Agree, Staines, there is always hype on these matters. But the Poles are a little different in that their society did not have the organised crime element. It has to be borne in mind. The immigration into the US from Italy in the early C20th brought many positives but American society did suffer from the mafia for years afterwards, indeed still does.

Anyway, I'm making Northolt nervous, and while I do think these are matters for fair comment if we have OT threads, I agree with him we don't want this thread to be hijacked by unfair comment, so I'll go back to thinking about ManU tomorrow...and that bloody does make me nervous!

Well said aussie <ok> seems queensland needs to be taught the difference between concerns about our country beginning to get over crowded and effecting the British people with regards to jobs, housing,NHS and many other things and racism......he dont seem to know the difference......Its a typical response of ignorance, the sooner we wake up and close our boarders to all except in certain circumstances the better chance this country will ever get of getting on its feet........nothing to do with racism what so ever....

Aussie, let me say that i have no issue with you what so ever. You have your own beliefs and ideas and you are entitled to them as you wish. because i dont agre with you does not mean i dont accept that you have your own ideas.

    Now to the personal bit.
Firstly..i dont give a **** about Bomber command. Yes you are a great patriot but all my mates are 1 Para. I applaud you for serving OUR country and would never disrespect you. Thank you for your service to our queen and country.
    That aside:
i have no idea why you think i have suddenly become "sensitive to any comment about heritage or peoplele in general". I guess thats your perception.
What i take offence to is someone saying that areas should not change thier identity or population, whilst that same person is doing exactly that.
For the record, i dont give a **** what you think..
You are teling me too chill out...really?.
I have to say that this is the first time i have ever had the chance to say..you are pissed mate, have a sleep and get over it. I know you will fell better when you do wake up

As for my heritage and background. i am proudly English ( as my QPR/England tatoos will show). I am not running away from my heritage. I am here so my children can have a decent start in life.
i work, pay tax and never have claimed the dole. If that makes me a bad person because of my skin, then **** you.

Aussie, i think you got pissed and decided to post, hopefully in the morn, you will see that I'm not the bad guy.As for racism.....any racist is a ****head..and i'l happily back that up.

I hope that sets the record straight the way we do it here in Aus.? You have my PM details if you wish to caarry on the conversation and i will reply to anything you PM..in private of course.
We are both grown ups and have a common passion. i would suggest we consolidate and move on.
Obviously, i will not pass on anything to the mods to be against you..you have my word and a soldier and comrade.
If you wish to PM me then please do. Also i wil be in Sydney on 9th March. if you fancy a meet up fo rthe game, let me know. I'l be there for our nieces engagement.

Hope the ZZZ's treat you well and you re-read my post the way it was meant.

keep the faith bother!- OZ R's!

No but I remembered the scare stories about how the Euros last year were going to be a bloodbath!

Sorry Staines, I just couldn't help it :p

A disgraceful post. Talk about arrogance. Just because you don't like a thread you feel like you can barge in and have it shut down?

This is yet another symptom of over regulation. When a thread is shut down like it was last night, it just leads to another one being opened like this one with the protagonists being even more wound up. Its like the police baton charging people of the streets and inflaming the situation making it ten times worse.
Threads should just be allowed to go their own way and they'll burn out in their own time.

The Mods have been far too heavy handed of late and could do with listening to PSNI Chief Matt Baggott's interview on Spotlight last night where he explained how his force were handling the current protests in Belfast. Trying to gag people's democratic right of freedom of expression only serves to exacerbate the situation.
