I hope we don't wait till the end to pile the pressure, it's important that we get a goal early on. I'd like to see Assaidi and Suso in the 2nd half. Allen might still be taken off, would love to see Suso given a chance through the middle

Problem is when Liverpool put first time crosses in there is no one to aim for, so they often cut back in from the by-line. I wonder what Gerrard's pass completion is tonight, quite low I would have thought!
Game is there for the taking. Zenit don't know what to do with the ball and look very shaky at the back. Suarez just needed to get a tiny bit more on that touch to go round the keeper from Lucas' pass. Should have had a blatent pen just before that - another goal in next 10-15 mins and I think we'll go and win it.
Totally agree on your first point which is why Downing can't perform in this team. He can't get to the byline and cross (his mains trength) because there is no one in there so he has to cut back and then gives players a chance to get back. Coutinho/Suarez/Sturridge can all cut in as well but they can beat a man which downing can't so he then has a blocked shot or pass it and slow the attack down.
