We desperately need a Plan B. I know that Villas-Boas really wants Moutinho, but if we can't get him, then we need to bring in a playmaker of some description, anyway.
Plenty of possession, but how often have we looked clueless when teams put massed ranks behind the ball?

  8. Spot on - although if we could possibly rely on the likes of Holtby and (dare I say it) Dembele to come up with something like that then the situation wouldn't be half as dire.

  9. Zenit 1-0!! Lol

Mousers now need to score 4 in 65 mins against a time that is immeasurably better than them!! Should be fun to watch....

If we get CL football, levy is a very very lucky man. AVB might have his faults, but if he guides us into the competition, he's done wonders IMO.

We scored at the right time, too bloody late for that homer, Platini loving referee to level things up.

It's always good to screw over a bunch of cynical bastards in injury time - because not only do they lose, they get the feeling they just wasted the previous 90 minutes delaying the inevitable.

When oh when are you lads going to learn that the match isn't over until the final whistle? We go a goal down and you were full of gloom and woe.

But then do most teams struggle against a bus- It's how 'they' won the CL last season.
Barca failed the other night and the list goes on....

Delighted to have got through but I still feel like giving the same views I had before.

Overall they looked the more complete team in a tie between to very evenly matched sides. They defended well and countered well in both games but they invited us on to them time and time again with us rarely creating them enough problems. Dembele just isn't taking the game by the scruff of the neck like we all know he can. If he's still having a problem with injury then he should play his normal game for as long as he can and then after say and hour he can be subbed off. He's by far and away the most frustrating player we have as he has all the ability but isn't using it. There was lots of other stuff poor about our play tonight, we were lethargic on the ball. We need to see some zip back in our game, it can't just come from Bale and whilst Ade was improved tonight I wish AVB would just tell him to stop drifting around the pitch, he's a striker who needs goals and that starts by making sure he's in the right position to score. Now I come to think of it, did Ade have a shot tonight?

I thought he actually played well. Had some good touches, brought others into the game when he could and moved into space well.
Showed flashes of his old self, including that lovely ball over the top for Bale to somehow miss. The Welshman didn't have a good game, but still looked our biggest threat, just like the first leg.
