I don't mean in a racist way. It's just that NUFC only had a presence in Ireland when Dalgleish was in charge. When he left the connection was abandoned, and we possibly missed out on a few good players since. One of the great things about the Irish players is that they have come up the hard way, with day jobs eg., unlike the players who are spoiled in our academies, and don't seem to appreciate what a great privilege they have, and how lucky they are.

If the Queen can come to Ireland, why not our scouts?

I really want Reading and Swansea both to go up, but rather have Reading as they are closer to where I live + they are my '3rd' team - after toon and cobblers.
I would take Long if Reading don't go up, and Scott Sinclair if Swansea don't go up.

He scored a really good goal today and Long looks good but if Reading come up they'l overprice him.

Long is great, sure enough he'll replace Keane soon enough in the Ireland team.. done great for Ireland replicating Doyle recently.. He has a decent leap on him.. He looked composed tonight, for Ireland less so.. Worth about 3 million I reckon..

Worth more than 3 mil i'm afraid
I think if reading stay in the CC 5 and we may get him
If they come up 10 and he'd be priced out of a move

dont think we're in the position to take a chance on a (very good) championship striker at the minute.

I'm afraid this is what we have to look for at the moment!
The odd big signing but diamonds in the rough from lower leagues/ france or Holland!
These are who we can realistically attract!

Would love to get Long and Sinclair! In my opinion they are the only two Championship players we should be looking at.

Andy Carroll wasn't as good as Shane Long in the championship... Shane Long has put in very good performances too for Ireland when he has played...

Yeah I agree I said it in Feb but didn't go down too well.I said his wages would suit us and transfer fee not to big but could be too late,I'M sure he's alerted everyone and if he doesn't work out you would get what you paid for him back so worth a punt
