    Unity and agreement have broken out on the Town board... Who'd have thunk it! <laugh>

    So after reading a lot of good posts I have come to the conclusion that in the main most of us are............
    Much happier with our defence
    Well aware of the lack of creativity and goals
    Accepting of the fact that it will be that way until we are mathematically safe and can try something a bit more adventurous

    This thread has turned out to be a good read (except Hoppers' unnecessary dig at a couple of posters who don't live in Suffolk but contribute to this board regularly, helping it stay busy and have stuff to talk about) Just think how many of you there would be if all those who didn't live in Suffolk (or get to many matches) left this board, it wouldn't leave many would it?

    Knowing Hoppers he was only having a bit of banter with you SD. It is a shame that our board isn't as vibrant as some on this site but bearing in mind we have got nothing to really be excited about at ITFC we don't do too bad! Just imagine what it will be like on here next season when we are challenging in the promotion places! <ok> And I mean the Championship not League 1.

    If you look at some other teams boards in the Championship section they are like ghost towns! Brighton, Forest, Huddersfield, Derby, Palace no one has posted anything on those for months so we have an amazing board when you compare it to most others. The Ipswich fanbase is huge and its just a real shame that we haven't got much to shout about right now! We have a terrific following away from home especially on the South Coast.

    Our defence is so much tighter thanks to Mick getting it organised, his signing might not have been as exciting as we may have hoped for but I am confident they will keep us up. For now that is what is important, then roll on next season onwards and upwards.

    Sorry about my comment SD was a bit of a wind up as Warky stated.

    Just on a couple of the players mentioned during this thread;

    Chopra & Edwards last 2 games have been their best for Town so far this season, McGoldrick is technically very good but I am concerned like others that he may not be that prolific, service is not great at the moment but was better during the 2nd half on Tuesday. Nouble has not had that much of a chance so far but he is clearly one for the future.
    Edwards has clearly had MMs boot up his arse, as he has remembered that he is ok going forward and is capable of getting crosses into the box.
    Ndaw was found out against Watford, he looked slow, poor distribution & could not hit a cows arse with a banjo. That being said we are a better team when he is playing.
    We do look pretty solid at the back, Stearman is solid but not much threat going forward.
    All in all I thought we did ok on Tuesday, I actually thought that apart from the first half our we probably shaded the rest of the game & deserved at least a consolation goal if not a point.

    Apology accepted my good man, it's easy to take things the wrong way when they are in print. <ok>
    The way Mick plays we need good wingers to offset his solid defence. Taylor and Wordsworth could be those two altough I expect Wordy to take up a central postion alongside Hyam.

    I think this is exactly how Mick is thinking atm, he thinks games are very tight in this league, which is often true and it might just be the odd goal that wins a match and as we've seen alot in this division sometimes if 1 goes in more follow, that seems to be the nature of the games. And I geuss he's trying to keep us as solid as he can so we stay in matches, he's prepared to loose a few but he thinks if we play like this for the rest of the season we will get enough wins to stay up. Some people would say this is a negative approach, I wouldn't go that far but it isn't exactly positive, Mick would say he's being a realist!!

    I'm not sure Taylor is a winger really either, think he's best behind the main striker. We've got soo many players like that it's ridiculous, Martin, JET, Taylor, McGoldrick and all very good technically!! I'm pretty pleased Mick has indicated that he will play Wordsworth more in a central position, Mick usually doesn't play overly creative players in the centre, can't wait to get this season out the way with because it isn't pretty atm and (if we're safe) see what kind of football we are going to play next year!!
