SOD has seen this rubbish and trying to play to whatever strength he has. I'm disappointed he hasn't found a loan CH I have to admit but even our better players are forever injured Baldock, Carey etc I'll be amazed if Kilkenny's the answer but until I see the moaning Aussie 'under' SOD I have to defer judgement. It's ridiculous to think 'going for it' is the answer - it would be IF we had decent players but we don't. Our players are just not good enough. The board must take total responsibility - they've taken their collective eye off the ball. SL, because the others are puppets, will look back at this season knowing his only 'success' is to bring Rugby to Ashton Gate. It's a crying shame he didn't SPEND time and resources on improving the playing staff at BCFC.
The problem is our defence is so goddam aweful that the only way we have a prayer at keeping em out is by defence in numbers. This of course means that the pressure is continuous, and the supply line to our strikers non-existent. Add to that the fact that our most dangerous player has been in Africa for most of 2013 and you have a pretty toothless brigade. I blame Johnson, Millen (a little) and Del, for not filling our banks with bright and strong young defenders who could fill the void. Coppell I blame for being Coppell. It seems that 'Defender' has been a dirty word here at BS3 since we got promotion. Makes me wonder what these managers have been thinking about
Agreed but it's not too late to get some loanees in right now and just pay the money (even if it's over the odds) if we can attract the right calibre of player. If they save us from the drop then every penny will have been well spent and so what if we then let them go back to their parent clubs afterwards. SO'D can then buy the right players that he wants in the Summer, assuming he gets any money to spend.
