Loic Remy to miss Manchester United clash? By Jack Prescott, Staff Reporter Filed: Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 01:28 UK Last Updated: Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 01:28 UK Loic Remy has emerged as an injury doubt for Queens Park Rangers's Premier League match with Manchester United this weekend. The striker recently returned to training for the strugglers following a groin problem. However, manager Harry Redknapp is now expected to keep the Frenchman out of action for fear of aggravating the issue, according to The Sun. QPR welcome league leaders Manchester United to Loftus Road on Saturday.
Well with that sort of attitude, he might as well go on his hols now. We can get something from this game...it is becoming that we have to. So come on u RRRs
I said probably not definatly always hopeful would prefer him fully fit for the rest of the season than risk him breaking down because he comes back a week early for a glamour match
This injury was either more serious than we realised (maybe the initial reports weren't so far off?) or Remy, as rumoured is a bit of a sick note. If it's the latter then I wonder just how many minutes he's going to play in the next 12 games? If it's simply a case of him not being quite fit by Saturday, then common sense dictates that we should wait till he is 100% fit, especially as he is more likely to get some joy against the likes of Southampton and Sunderland rather than Man Utd.
Hmm, doesn't help any attacking option for the Saturday, probably see pretty much the same defensive formation again.
I think that was highly likely anyway mate. I think Harry should at least play Taarabt or Hoilett off Bothroyd (I know, I know!!).
I tend to agree with you, it may be better to play Betty than no Striker again, despite my lack of belief in the man.
Zamora to start, Betty second half...always play with a big man up front. Wow that sounds wrong But you know what i mean
I think this is what Harry is paid to do - manage! He may well be saving Remy for the more winnable games and that makes sense to me. Or, to put it another way, if Harry played him on Saturday and Remy limps off for the rest of the season, no doubt there would be a fair few threads on here about Harry's management skills! United may come with too much confidence and we've done well against the big teams at LR. Who knows??! One think I do know is that 12th man/woman/child/teenager/young adult/person/etc must be loud and raucous. COYRss!!
Remy said himself in an interview after he signed that the slightest thing keeps him out. Doubt we will see him v Utd and without him if we play 4-2-3-1 with JM on his own in a role he doesn't have the discipline for a 0-0 draw would be an unlikely and welcome result. Only other sniff at goal will be Samba from set pieces and we won't get too many of them in dangerous areas.
This! There's always a risk in playing football. The real question what is the greater risk; playing him or not playing him. We're fighting for our lives right now and we're running out of time fast. We're in a mess, and one of the main reasons we're in this mess is our inability to score goals. We broke our transfer record signing him in order to solve this problem. So, what exactly are we saving him for? Are we saving him so that he's in mint when we sell him on in the summer? Madness.
