GFH are bankers. Not sure the word honest can be used with many of those. Maybe theyre the exception to the rule
Yes Dai you're right, Ken Bates secretly founded an Arab investment bank in case he had to look like he'd sold a football club.
After a 25k crowd returned to see a decent performance against a struggling opposition who themselves only brought a handful of supporters, it just goes to show what happens when you reduce the price of midweek games in particular. Just confirms that whilst Papa Smurf may have saved the club, he couldn't & didn't take the club to the next level and as such remains a BUFFER.
We'll have to agree to disagree on that one Marko. Given that we still have a club & we're no longer nearly £100m in debt, I think I know where I'd be betting if this came to a wager (not that I gamble you understand). Anyway Papa Smurf is history (even if he is notionally President). So after a good night helped by the rather novel approach of cutting ticket prices to swell numbers for a mid week game, let's hope for a brighter future than has been the case with our recent past.
Can understand people having their doubts about Bates continued involvement. I'm no different and wont believe he's gone probably until hes dead
