I feel your pain GR, this season has been absolutely ****. I hope there is a resurgence to the end of the season, but there is no evidence to support this. We are already relegated As far as I'm concerned.

We turn up for every game and give more effort than the team do.

It's a two way street, the fans did their part. The team didn't.

I really fear if we go down we'll struggle to recover, the last two seasons have damaged us badly. Just look at Wolves now...

It's hard to be optimistic if you have actually been going to the games. I'm sure its not great on TV or even in the press but in the flesh there is no hiding from the fact that most of our performances have been truly abysmal. And you can really get a feel for just how remarkable it is that so many theoretically decent and universally overpaid players have managed to under-perform week in week out. With the exception of DT the notes of optimism we tend to hear on here mostly come from overseas supporters or those that don't get to many games.

MH left a monumental mess. I think HR was capable of fixing it but we haven't had the luck we've needed when it mattered and he's now running out of runway sadly.

I'm actually sad that so many are thinking the same way as I do!

You can feel it in the crowd on a home match day, the nerves are almost palpable. That quiet murmur as the stands fill up and catching the odd comment about how we hope to God so-and-so isn't going to play or questioning the formation etc.

Then the team comes out and for a short while you hope things will turn out ok but at the back of your mind is the 5-0 against Swansea, the 3-1 against Southampton, the 3-0 against Liverpool where rings were run around our team of expensive misfits.

A missed free kick, a poorly taken corner, a scuffed shot.... all part of everyday football normally but you leave the ground thinking "If only that chance was put away" or "how did he miss THAT!" You then have the sour taste of players rolling about as if they have been shot instead of getting up and putting a shift in.

I've seen it in fans from other clubs who we have played off the park as they head towards their own miserable drop to the division below. You can see the shoulders slump and the heads drop from the players as the first goal goes in and they know that how ever hard they try they are up against superior opposition and can't get back into the game.

If this were boxing the towel would have been thrown in by now.

I think Utd are going to cruise past us on Saturday. We might be solid enough to nick a draw which would be a major achievement against the Champions elect but the much needed three points won't turn up this week. Best get it out of the way and crack on again and hope to be sharper against Southampton.

It's scary how this sums up the feeling at the ground mate.
