Great race.

Shout Stick...he was going to be my bet today but I thought he would struggle at the trip so I chickened out.

Worth remembering Cheltenian was getting 6lb's from the first and 10lb from the third and needs to brush up his jumping...decent comeback but he was fit!

 

Assuming he comes on for that run a fair bit (and they said on the commentary he was carrying a fair bit of condition) can he trouble MTOY? It's hard to asses what he's beaten, NYE surely hasn't run to form and the others don't have any form to go on.

 

I'm holding fire on Cheltenian at 33s for the Supreme. Good comeback but a lot more will be needed. If he even goes that route. Backers can't have hoped for much more from today though.

 

I'm not having MTOY as a 162 horse in his novice season. That must put him about the highest rated novice of all time..... does anyone have any stats?

 

Cheltenian will come on a bundle for that. Idled a little and also feel that fitness won the day. Supreme would certainly be his race and would have a big chance of making the frame IMO.
I thought Geraghty had blown that race as he seemed to take forever to get after Minella. He will say he judged it perfectly. Nice of McCoy to take up the running for him and help geraghty settle his mount. I wonder what JPM thinks about that!!!

 

Cheltenian has absolutely no chance in the Supreme imo.

That was a decent race but nothing more and BG was hardly waxing lyrical about the winner who was conceding weight.

Cheltenian comes from a yard who gets them fit fto and in a strong year he makes no appeal for any race at the festival...his jumping won't hold up either and it wouldn't be a fair ask for the horse to win that race after just one run over timber.

Be staggered if he even turns up.
