I was trying to think of just a top 5 last night, not so easy but Schindler's list has to be No1 for me, quickly followed by The Green Mile, Forrest Gump, The Island and Alien 1-4 (all equally). Just about any movie with Tom Hanks or Sigourney Weaver will normally tick most boxes for me.
Hmm, favourite film virtually impossible to name just one. The original 'Get Carter' with Michael Caine takes some beating also like the original 'Italian Job' again with Michael Caine. In fact I pretty much like most of Michael Caine's work, 'Water' which also starred Billy Connelly is really funny. Has anyone mentioned 'The Shawshank Redemption' ? Gripping stuff. What about this ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bank_Job If you've yet to see this I recommend you do, fascinating as it's based on a true story and the revelation (if true), "Michael X was hanged in 1975 for Benson's murder and erroneously claims that his personal files are kept hidden in the British National Archives until 2054"
What's everyone's most hated movie? I think, off the top of my head, it's the twilight series for me. No series of movies has damaged a generation more than this series of movies. Atrocious on every level.
I don't know about 'hated' Beefy but here's a list of films which, IMO, are total overated bollocks: Gangs of New York Terminator (all of 'em) Fight Club Matrix (all of 'em) Police Academy (all of 'em totally unfunny) The League of Gentlemen (the film not the excellent comedy series )
Anything that has a story line that is about people racing cars. Examples being - Faster, Drive Angry and so on. Bore the arse off me
As a contender for worst move ever, this has to be a contender: (NB: I'm not sure if the language is a little strong, so maybe NSFW)

I had the misfortune of living with some Girls at Uni with horrific music and film tastes and to pick out a couple of absolute poopers 'What Happens in Vegas' - Gave up after half an hour '27 Dresses' - Dreadful just dreadful 'Hannah Montana' - or whatever it's called, she's alright to look at but there was too much singing and hopeless acting to be taken seriously I quickly decided I would stamp some of my films in and change the genre so went with 'District 9' - love this film for it's close to the knuckle story line and South Africa has always fascinated me 'Shutter Island' - Scared the **** out of everyone but easily one of the best 'thrillers' in the past decade. Amazing storyline and twists 'American History X' - Unbelievable film about the neo nazi racsim in America and the effects on those involved Needless to say I was watching films with the lads after I exposed them to something different and didn't get to watch the whole of the twilight Saga (Saga being a good word to describe it)
Quatermass and the Pit, The Reptile, The Pit and the Pendulum - absolute ham sandwiches but classic all the same.
The Prestige deserves a mention, that's really good film, plus it stars Hugh Jackman, who's obviously a Norwich fan.
I think Bruce Willis should be in Room 101, other than Looper not released a good film in years. He should retire now rather than tarnish his career even more.
One that has not been mentioned here yet, that I found quite brilliant is - Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon. Again a concept that is a little different
