Now that's what I call a football player and a half.. a player's player, a manager's player, a proper box to box, gut busting "I don't pretend I'm Cristiano Ronaldo but if you want a scrap you'll get one", action man who plays his heart out for City.. OK he's not Ash but he is David Meyler and we've missed someone like him..

feel free to sign the guest book..

He is brilliant. He's been looking tired rather recently but he really turned it on tonight. He never stops running, he does the nitty gritty stuff in midfield/defence, he makes great forward attacking runs, he links up with everybody around him really well, he tries to get the team going forward, he's always making himself available etc etc

He has been fully worth £1.5m IMO.

It was a ridiculous save he pulled off but Meyler should have buried that.

In fact their keeper made a few really good saves.

He's a top player but by only gripe is that he gets worse as he tires and by the end of games he's just kicking it into touch half the time. It's weird how he starts making such bizarre decisions late in the game and ends up losing possession. Sounds critical but I think he's great most of the time.

Great game from him tonight - superb timing and loads of effort to back up his skills. Looked absolutely knackered for last ten minutes but no wonder.

I'm a critical ****er I know. Just my observation though. Tonight he just ran into touch in front of me near the end and tried to win a free kick in the process by falling over, Olsson who was next to him gave him a look like "The **** was that?". I'm sure it's because he tires, but there's a good reason for that cos he's ****ing everywhere!

Don't get me wrong it was a top performance by him and the team tonight.

I actually can't understand why Martin O'Neill doesn't want Elmohamady. He's far too good for Championship level and he's a much better player than that James McClean or whatever he's called.

You might have had some decent results had you have used Elmo.

McClean looks class from what I've seen.

You'd be surprised, I suppose it's a confidence thing as when he was a regular last year he was very ineffective the majority of the time.

But with him only being on loan I suspect MoN recognises his potential talent.

    How's his crossing?

McClean has gone off the boil this season, defenders have sussed out his limited game and he's struggled, was class last year though, I reckon(hope!) he'll get back to his first season form eventually

His crossing is bloody ace. That's the best thing about him, he literally receives it near the halfway line and just whips balls in from around there and somehow hits the perfect areas time and time again. It's been our game plan most of the season: give it to Elmo and cross regardless of position. We've finally got a striker in Gedo so we're starting to score from the crosses now.

Brilliant. He's put some wicked crosses in all Season, but we haven't really had anyone to get on the end of them. Proschwitz capitalised on a couple late on against Ipswich but now we have Gedo, I think a few more of his crosses will be converted.

He's not scared to take a player on, he links up with everybody around him, he's just brimming with confidence at the moment really.

ISTPLT, I thought he looked decent last Season, but this Season, I've seen nothing of him.

That's certainly encouraging, when he arrived at us he had the nickname 'The Egyptian Beckham'

Hopefully we'll see some of that for us next season (if he's ours that is, and not yours)

Shocking to fair,he can beat his man no problem. But his crossing is dire mate.
