Mertesacker has been dreadful since Christmas, yet we don't have the squad depth to make him fight for his place. Szczesny has been in poor form lately (apart from Sunderland), yet there is no-one close to replacing him. Giroud has been rubbish since his brief flurry of goals, but we only have wingers to replace him in the middle. We simply don't have the squad to make our badly performing players fight for their place in the team. As usual we are drastically under-stocked in defense, and when Vermaelen and Mertesacker are playing this badly, no-one can replace them. I would actually say our best defensive pairing right now is Sagna and Koscielny. It's always the same story. Arsenal needs a spine: GK, CB, DM, CF. We're always short in those positions.
As well as the squad depth, we also do not have a manager that is ready to drop players who play badly. Sagna had that run of game were he was dog **** and there was no chance of him being dropped. Wenger is not ruthless enough and again that is another reason why he should move on in the summer.
Don't think Chez was bad today Giroud didn't even start so that point is mute Mert hasn't been horrible, but his form has dropped and he has been dropped on some occassions.
no , witness Ches and his "holy **** **** **** " mistake against blackburn . Yet lo and behold , he starts again in the champions league.
Chez's "mistake" has been grossly exaggerated, he made a decent initial save that he probably should have been able to parry away (many Top GKs do this from time to time but you don't see them getting dropped over it) the problem was that the RB (a converted DM) did not track back his man allowing the BB player to get an open shot away.
Actually that was Walcott not tracking back. Incidently - another player in terrible form who we can't afford to drop.
You didn't think Chez was bad against Blackburn either. You are completely ****ing blind and think all our players are brilliant. I can't take anything you say seriously because it's always ridiculously slanted in the positive. There I said it... that has been boiling over for a while.
to be fair to him tonight , he DIDNT give away any stupid free kicks , thats a 100 per cent improvement at least .! but yeah , **** knows what happened to him . He used to be a real brick , now hes as flaky as a flaky thing.
So you think Walcott was dropped for the Cup match rather than rested? I suppose you think Wilshere and Cazorla were "dropped" too?
