Yes, I know that. Millwall are as much in a relegation dogfight as us. Sorry, the 'something like that' was meant in a more dismissive tone than you read. As I mentioned, both Barnsley and Wolves are below us, but somehow only one of them counted for the commentator
We are usually written off as no-hopers. I have noticed over the decades how many managers of "bigger" clubs have got sacked after unexpected defeats against Charlton. I seem to remember Ron Atkinson was one at Man Utd. It seems to be the ultimate humiliation for a fancied but underperforming club. This could be taken as insulting to us, but I quite enjoy it. I don't think it will happen to Nigel, but nothing would surprise me these days. I hope not, because it is obvious who the replacement would be.
Beat me to it I don't think Powell would leave us for Leicester though. Despite the obvious links and his prior happiness at Leicester, Charlton are his 'spiritual home'. I don't think there would be much appeal for him leaving behind the club he loves, the squad he has assembled and the relative job security he has here, for a team in the same league who have little regard for managerial loyalty...regardless of respective league positions.
hahaha charlton return to the pitch to thousands of boes after taking an age to come out on to the pitch !
Hardly mentioned by the commentators. For a defender that is normally a good sign, but I think all the action has been on the other side where Solly is struggling without Wilson's support as Konchesky keeps surging forward and linking with Marshall or Knockaert. Apparently Pritchard is doing well in attack but he cannot defend like Wilson. The gamble is paying off so far as Pritchard laid on the goal, and I suppose Wilson could always replace him if we are still winning or drawing later on.
Leicester commentator said there was no problem and the referee wasn't out yet. I'm always happy to see my team come out 2nd for the second half. Chance for Morrison as Schmeichel flaps at a corner. Schmeichel down to save it
