It has been confirmed that it will be used for the first time at the 2014 world cup.

Whats the bets that England get an important goal disallowed because it didnt cross the line now.

Shouldnt be to long before its introduced to the premier league.

Has been a long time coming, and personally i agree that it ahould be implemented. Will they do a tennis style replay on the monitors, or will it be an instant word in the ear to the ref??

I believe 2 technologies have been considered, the first being hawkeye, the second being a sensor in the ball which causes the refs watch to vibrate if it crosses the line.

any decent orgainsation would be testing this technology now in the top divisions in the world and getting thier feedback but FIFA is run by a load of planks who probably are more interested in the money they can pocket rather than the effectiveness of the technology

Knowing Blatter if anything is vibrating as suggested above he will trial it in Women's football first.

FINALLY this happens...pleased it is coming in and don't think it will be long before video replays of other contentious issues arrive to help out the ref and discourage many of the ruinous approaches to tricking the whistle man and other officials. I think it'll bring more parity to the game if things like dodgy tackles can be referred to a quick video replay. Worth a trial at least.

Really don't like Blatter at all. Glad I've got that off my chest. I wonder what Blatter would think of me saying that last sentence!

I've never understood the mass hysteria against Blatter whilst our own FA get away with murder.

It is just the same set up, undemocratic, old fashioned and run by bureaucratics and business men, a select few voting for each other.

It's about degrees, Blatter is far more corrupt than the grubby little English FA!

How do you know? You only hear the English medias interpretation of him yet our FA and staff barely have a bad word said against them.

It's very difficult not to hate Blatter and FIFA which he runs it like dictator, they have a reputation for rigging votes, world cups get given to countries who don't deserve them, it's a difficult allegation but they come across as racist too. The main problem with FIFA is they are a law to themselves there is no-one there who can regulate them, I despise them with an absolute passion.
