On his betfair blog this morning:

    13.35 Navan - Chicago Grey

On ratings he looks to have it all to do here with Rubi Light, Hidden Cyclone and Foildubh all in opposition. He's been in good form, and has been working nicely since his run in the Galmoy hurdle at Gowran Park in January. He would appreciate a bit of a sounder surface, but with Davy Condon booked I'm hoping for a good run with a view to possibly running him at Cheltenham in the Cross Country race, and then onto Aintree in April for the Grand National.

After it wins at 25/1 on the racing post website:

Following the race, Elliott cited a wind op as the reason for the improved performance. He said: "We thought he would run well. He's had a wind operation this year and that seems to have made a big difference and the soft ground played into his hands. He'll go straight to the Grand National now."

    lol. what a ****

Brilliant, brilliant shout. This is why this forum is so good, this horse had no right to even be considered on all known form yet the sleuths on this forum sniffed the blighter out. Well done George and also ROTO who mentioned it for an abandoned race last week. Bloody brilliant! AND ITS ALL FREE!!!!

Thousand Stars has not looked the same horse for some time.

To be fair to Hurricane Fly he looks like he has got back in great shape but he has it all to prove against the British horses this year. He has only faced one proper fit and well rival and he was in a fight with Go Native- a horse he beat considerably in the past.

I think the jury is well and truly out- Ladbrokes go 5/4 <yikes>

Missed Whispering Gallery but no doubt it'll be a race I watch in the run up to the festival. Wonder which race he'll go for. What's the deal with that Minella Fifty, cost £150k and not achieved much so far...

Seeing as GGW has stolen the show I'm feeling a bit left out, only a head away from landing the treble. Anyone can tip up a 25/1 shot ;)

Obviously I'm kidding, what are people's thoughts of the return of Cheltenian at Donny tomorrow?

<applause> Drever still a decent return there. You are right, if today has shown anything it is that anyone can tip up a 25/1 shot! Even a stopped clock as they say.

Get over to tomorrows daily thread (now a sticky - the payday thread) we have already started mentioning Cheltenian. I think he is fascinating, not only as a festival bumper winner but also his defeat of Montbazon when giving him weight now looks like fantastic form as well. It's a very, very good looking race tomorrow but I question whether Mr Henderson still holds the ace of spades in the Supreme even if Chetenian goes in tomorrow. Whether he can step up in trip for the festival is another question but I'm excited to see him back. Bumper winners can go on to do big things, just see Cue Card! That said it's a long layoff to come back from. What are your thoughts??
