    About the OP...

Am wondering how they'd do fitba goal line tech. Transmitter inside the baw? They'd need to differentiate between the baw and players, especially the goalie, crossing the line so laser technology on it's own widny cut it. Unless it's a strong laser and it'll cut everything, including baw and players.

    Hmmm. To the laboratory!

What about tech in the player's jerseys? You could use that to enforce the offside rule.

Am on a ****in roll here...

Hawkeye is laser tech is it not? It watches for the beam being interrupted by the ball?

So, you're suggesting a high speed camera looking across the goal line? Hmmm. Widny work. Too many bodies would get in the way.

Gotta be high fidelity GPS with a transmitter in the baw. These days commecially available GPS systems can track to within an inch so it's feasible.

a hawkeye camera situated in the junction of post and bar at either side would suffice.
