If Cattermole fouled as much as Cabaye he would be sent off even more than he gets sent off now. Has Cabaye been given special allowance just to foul who he wants with impunity?
Cabaye once in a while does a stupid challenge, but at least he has the brains to disguise it. Cattermole is an idiot that goes flying in full force from all angles. It's like he thinks "**** the team, I don't care if I get a card, I'm gonna do what I want". Like when he bullshitted the referee after the whistle blew at St James. The game is over, why risk letting your team down when there's nothing you can do? The difference between Cattermole and Cabaye is Cabaye is intelligent, and Cattermole is just a neanderthal. Cabaye has the same fury in his as Cattermole, but Cabaye pulls himself back 95% of the time, and when he does decide to go in for a risky challenge, he does it sly. Cattermole just goes in like a mad dog.
Cabaye is the French Scholes. I have noticed people comment on his rash tackles but kind of dismiss them. Not to the same extent as "the ginger prince". Cabs needs to be careful as his tackles will land him in trouble. Problem is, Cattermole has a longer history of thuggery. Refs look for him to do something stupid. He obliges and the inevitable happens.
Taxi Driver is a sly, cowardly, slimey cheating ****er. Like one of those heel snapping, yappy Yorkshire terriers who **** off very quickly when you turn around to hoof the bastards over the golf course.
I think Cabaye is a dirtier player than Cattermole and as said above he is very sly with it so gets away with more. Cattermole just tends to blunder into challenges often right under the refs nose. At least Cattermoles game is more honest in a way.
Like mentioned above Cabaye is the new Scholes when it comes to shocking tackles. Because he's a ball playing centre mid refs just think "eeee what ya like Yohan, stop being a tinker". If Cattermole coughs too loud the refs know he's one of these tackly midfielders and see it as a sign of aggression, automatic yellow "one more and your off son, I know your type"
So what you're saying is, if Cattermole was just as dirty as Cabaye (which, to be honest, he is) but he disguised it better you wouldn't call him a dirty twat?? You're hypocrisy is unbelievable Tash - Cabaye is a dirty twat - I have watched him and he is a sly little dirty player - Probably worse than Cattermole (definitely as bad) but he gets less than half the booking he does because he kicks someone and then smiles at the ref - he should've walked against Spurs without any shadow of a doubt - yet he got away with a yellow card - Cattermole would've been sent off - the ref probably would've dropped the card, but Cabaye's "pop star looks" seem to get him off the hook - there was nothing "sly" about the challenge against Spurs it was plain dirty and dangerous. Completely balanced as normal QWOP
Exactly I disagree the CAbaye's fouls are 'clever' they are right in front of ref eg vs spurs. The ref would have sprinted over if that was Cattermole and he'd have gone straight away. Some players are just '.given 'free reign' eg Cabaye and Scholes. PS I'm not disputing that Cabaye is a better footballer than Cattermole and Scholes in his prime will have been 100 times better than the pair of them put together.
I think the word is 'Intent', a lot of it comes down to that. Cabaye is earning a reputation slowly but surely, he'll get noticed. Cattermole seems to be mellowing down a bit but he has a reputation that precedes him, that will linger around him throughout his career. They're not cheats, they just get carried away with adrenaline/passion, give me two hot headed tackler's any day over a pair of Italians that will roll around on the floor like a pigeon with a clipped wing every time another players farts near them. I'm sick of hearing about "could have ended his career with that tackle", after he scraped his studs down the other player's 2 inch shin pad.
Or when a player gets hit in the head with the ball and the manager says "it could have ended his life!"
Normally I'm in agreement with you Terry but a studs up challenge on anyones shinpad would break a leg with enough force (if their leg is planted) - Although sometimes they do say these things about players like Catts and Scholes for good hard tackles - but when Gerrard does them it's fine
I think Cabaye has a bit of a brain where as Catts most cetainly does not. cabaye will do his stuff and be apologetic, Catts thinks he's done nothing wrong. Cabaye may just keep away from anything silly for the next 10 minutes where as Catts will go in full blooded even if the booking was 30 seconds before. Brain over braun everytime.
