Agree it is good some passion showed, and agreed not sure if either are that good. Our defence has been woeful lately, and Mensah is not tall enough as a CB for the EPL as well as being injury prone. I would however take if Ned if the price is right.

I'm all for Ned, think him and Bramble should be CB, and we should look at Hutton (£5million) and Ziegler (Free).

Turner, Bardo and Anton as back up.

And before anyone starts, Bardo, wonderful as he's been this season, his distribution is woeful, and we need better to progress.

Obviously i'd like Samba alongside Ned, we'd win the physical battles with that pairing.

i was talking to my source in the tunnel area and literally witnessed this. mensah had come out in his tracksuit where as everyone else had come out in their suits etc.. when they came back in nedum stated to him in the tunnel he had lost a lot of respect for him the way he treated louis laing and said he needed to look at himself. mensah took offence to this and a slanging match ensued. nedum then criticised mensahs recent performance and mensah grabbed him, nedum punched mensah twice and they were dragged off eachother by others

    well done nedum imo

As i said to you earlier mate, i like Turner, but there will come a time when we need a bit more in terms of distribution, and next season really is massive for our leng term future.

I worry about Turner's lack of pace. I agree he is solid when it comes to defending the high ball but think that when we play more creative teams we need someone like Mensah (on his game) who reads the play and has the speed and strength to compete.

In his last few games Mensah certainly hasn't had the speed nor the strength to compete, against Wolves he was caught short on both several times. I have also doubted his motivation and loyalty to the club for most of this season, perhaps this dressing room bust up could possibly confirm that fear. The sad fact is that on the few occasions during his time at SOL when he has been totally fit he has looked the complete CD as has been mentioned here many times.

Whoever gets the nod, maybe someone completely new, we must have team spirit. If we don't have that then I think we will be dead in the water from the first game of the new season. I remember all too well the disintegration of Reid's Championship side, a poor second half season followed by capitulation in the new season and humiliating relegation. My big fear is that history will repeat itself.
There is much to be done in the close season to pick up the pieces from this season and get us ready for the new. We must hope that Bruce and his backroom staff on are top of the situation.

I think this is quality. Good on Ned for having the confidence to approach an older, international captain and having the balls to give him what for. Mensah is not the player of last year and even if he was I wouldn't sign him as he can only play something like 1 in 4 matches which in my view is a very poor return, for what will probably be very decent wages. I would actually keep Ned. Unlike Mensah, he will only get better. I like him at right back and fancy a bramble/samba partnership next season, which I think would be great. I would perhaps keep Turner as back up, but thats it, as I genuinely don't believe he is top ten quality.
