So, Sir Alex is in trouble with the FA once again for talking about a referee before the game against Chelsea, I believe (against FA rules apparently).

There is no getting away from the fact that he is the most successful manager in living memory, managing a club that has won so many titles and trophies during his 25 years in charge, but I have to ask why he continually lets himself down with his attitude towards any form of authority, be it from officials or the FA?

He must average at least 3 FA charges per season for bad mouthing officials or saying something about the FA itself and to add to that, I have read that every time he refuses to speak to the BBC he receives a £32,000 fine! Some of the post match comments that I've heard him make about referees are completely outrageous, made in the heat of the moment because he lost a match, but I have never once heard him apologise to these officials when he realises that he was in the wrong. For these reasons, I find it very difficult to acknowledge his achievements and respect him for what he has done at Manchester United, because of the sheer arrogance of the man. Some will say that he has every right to be arrogant with the record he has, but does he have to be so over the top?

This latest charge was met with total silence from Sir Alex, with him refusing to even acknowledge the charge from the FA. Is this not treating the FA with utter contempt? Does it send out the wrong message to youngsters who no doubt idolise the man, that it is perfectly acceptable to ignore authority?

It's yes and yes to me.

He actually spoke positively about Howard Webb. That's what he got in trouble for. He said that Man Utd was "getting the best referee".

Funny how you can be punished for being nice, but I guess it makes some sense as you don't want to influence decisions.

Yeah, I thought it was crazy to charge him on this occasion, because as you say, he was speaking positively about an official..........for a change!
