Bluey - at least you only get your legs slapped by mods on here - you get the buggers cut off over there..............................
This doesn't make sense. As Laudrup has been mentioned then in response, no we don't know but it is a debating point is it not?
Of course, but allot of posters here seem certain he'll go, so as part of the discussion, I'd like to know why ml would leave, but mm wouldn't?
Chico. Personally I believe both would move in a heartbeat if the likes of Man Utd, Barcelona or Real Madrid came knocking.
Swansea will always have this problem until Huw realizes that managers don't like to have to clean the buckets every week just in case.
So then girls, now that we have established that your coming up (Not putting money on it though), whats your game plan for survival?? what needs changing and strengthening? .................... By the way three important things we did was : 1) Top keepers (Vorm/Tremmel) 2) Strengthen our Defence (Caulker/Chico/Tiendalli/Bartley) 3) Top scorer (Graham/Michu) While these are obviously where you will be strengthening as well, how are your possession stats, anyone now what Cardiff's are?................ PS: Will you be shipping out that pensioner from Porthcawl too!............... please log in to view this image
see this post jacks, we all know that if a stable, bigger club comes in for our manager he's off. but its my opinion that if we get off to a bad start next year if we go up, that malky's position may be under threat, though this is just a hunch. they could have sacked jones easily when they arrived but didn't. i hope they dont do a southampton. dragon, i think we need more quality on the wings and right back, as well as shifting out a few players that wont hack it in the PL, like helguson, mcphail, possibly mcnaughton but only as a sub. keeper we're fine, we've already spent money on players who can make the step up, so wholesale changes are not needed...
Phil - ship out Sparkey? Heaven forbid. Why would we get rid of the intellectual superior of all WUM posters on here - and their boards as well when he has the odd 5 minutes to spare? And even then we keep Clingo in reserve. Where the hell is Clingo by the way? Come back you old bugger wherever you are. Has Minxy kidnapped him with a view to making him the world hide and seek champion after the discovery of Richard III? Back on topic as I don't want to be chastised by Taff again. As has been said often on this thread, should a big club come calling then it would be hard for Malky and Laudrup not to answer the call. Okay at this stage Laudrup has more stripes up than Malky and could be more in demand but give it a year or so and Prem survival for us (should we get there - one game at a time please) then who knows? As for big clubs I would only consider Prem at present as I doubt Malky is on the continental radar as yet although Laudrup probably is, being well known throughout Europe from his playing career. I think we can rule out the likes of the 2 Manc clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and probably Liverpool for now but as for the rest should their manager move on or more likely get fired then why shouldn't they be looking at a successful, young and up and coming manager like Malky/Laudrup. And if they did you couldn't blame them for going provided it was a step up in club stature/position as well as reward. Again Laudrup could probably aim higher than Malky at present. However, if Laudrup signs the new contract rumoured to be on the table (Malky already being on a contract until 2014, could be longer?) either club could demand a good sized fee for their loss.
No you didn't mention established. Your post is just full of the arrogance of a fan who thinks they are part of the PL furniture. Ok maybe you didn't say there's a huge gap but we're going from run away championship leader to pl whippings boys FOR SURE ( you did actual say that btw). Full of respect for the way Swansea have adapted to the PL, same respect goes to Norwich who did it quicker and didn't spend 5 years readying themselves, you seem to suggest that's some sort of prerequisite. You're having a great season, enjoy. We are too, but to start declaring how next years going to go for either of us without even knowing the squad/manager we'll start with is ridiculous and makes you just look a bit of a dick.
I said earlier both would better themselves and it wouldn't take the sort of giants Taff mentions for either to move IMO. ML's achievement of guiding you to the top 8 or so of the Pl, winning the L cup and therefore qualifying for Europe will be noticed by a lot of European chairmen. He almost certainly will get a job offer if that's how your season pans out, whether it will be enough of a step up to tempt him from what is a very solid setup (albeit with a limited budget) remains to be seen.
Give over will you, QPR went up as runaway champions, but look how quickly the cookie crumbled!!! You my boy are in for a shock, take stock with some greater depth to your argument, you've been rubbing shoulders with that deluded old boot from Porthcawl!!........
Qpr weren't 11pts clear at this stage and on course for around the 100 point mark. They also binned their manager and most of the first team. Their club is circus and a perfect example of how not to run a club. We won't do that. I'm sure our approach will be a lot closer to what Norwich did. Havinf said that didn't QPR stay up......? I'll happily take 4th from bottom if we go up.
Modern football....MM would leave if he got offered more money somewhere else Just enjoy having him at the helm at this point of time.
I think he would be more attracted by the status and prospects of any club wanting him. Inevitably more money would be involved at Prem level. However there are clubs who might offer more than us but do not have the same scope for development and advancement.
Well your right on their club being a circus, and the QPR not606 board isn't much better, seems you'll be better equipped to stay up, but it won't be easy, just saying, that's all!...................
I don't think anyone of us thinks it'll be easy but it is really starting to look like we'll find out!
Yes it does, I'll agree on that, I must admit your looking the real deal, and as long as you don't allow any complacency to creep in during the final third of the season, as MM mentioned on the box yesterday then I think you'll be fine, by the way, he gave a very good interview, fair play to him, looked every bit a Prem manager in waiting!............. PS: I'm not only looking forward to those great Derbies again, but also looking forward to resuming some tidy banter with that miserable old git Sparkey!.................... please log in to view this image
