I'll take a chance that your not a cat so that means that whoever you follow will most likely not be there as much as us......except possibly Galway......in the coming years that is.
Unfortunately for you Tipp your wrong mate. I'm Kilkenny true and true. But half of me (bad half) is from south Tipp Hon the cats.
I suppose looking back at my previous posts, I obviously made a mistake. Its id have to say F1, skydiving And possibly powerboat racing would be the fastest But isnt drag racing a sport too...?!
I went to the All Ireland Hurling Final in 1978 at Croake Park to see Kilkenny v Cork, I was a bit too young to remember much about it other than we ( Kilkenny ) lost. Not sure why we went and supported Kilkenny as my father was from Laois. He's passed on now so I could never get to ask him. Btw, as I remember, I think Laois play in blue and white hoops. Does anyone know if that's correct?
They play in blue and white alright but not really hoops. Would guess that your dad supported Kilkenny because like Laois they are Leinster teams while cork is Munster. A true Leinster man could never shout for cork when playing Kilkenny.
I was just trying to look it up, but what you have said above makes sense my friend. Cheers. It was a long time ago for me but a good day out never the less. I must try and do it again when I get the chance.
It was definitely Soldeu. Other memories are blurred at best! 2 guys used to play the fiddle and have a good old sing along every night.
Yep that was in the new Hotel Soldeu. big new stone fronted building just past the ski hire shop and before the nightclub at the end of the strip. guys on the fiddle made it a bit of an Irish night and was good fun. Mainly for tourists & punters as the locals used other bars where we would get free or cheap drink. I lived down the road at a place called "the rock"! Real party place and skiing with a hang over is fun isnt it !!
I watch like 30 other sports which generally I like equally, so all other sport could be considered my 'second' favorite sport really. Though more inclined to say rugby
Blimey.. vague bits are coming back to me. It was an exhausting non stop fun holiday. We had a great time - ski-ing in that clear air sure was a great hangover cure. (****, I'll ask again. Please ignore if you want... who's the England cricketer? PM me. I am discrete - I never told anyone about Secret and that sheep, did I? Damn.)
I REMEMBER THAT NIGHT CLUB TOO!! Sorry for shouting... those were the days, when men were men and I had hair...
