Oi soccer boy I agree with ya ! Listen I think it's a bit disingenuous to say it would be a troll fest, consider it a lock in
Same here, really don't agree at all with what's being proposed. Trolling, especially malicious trolling, needs to be dealt with not diverted to an approved area.
Imaz rest assured with me as mod I will have soccer boy towing the line #offtopic #keepthefaith #youknowitmakesense #secretformoderator
I'm having difficulty getting my head round this. Is the proposal to have a moderated 'all things football' section and and un-moderated 'all other things' section? There are some attention seekers on here who can resist everything but temptation, why would this proposal be an improvement unless there is very swift and fierce moderation? Is that the idea?
Of course not. You sure you read all the proposals Bellers or did you just jump in at the end there? It would be more along the lines (as I understand it at least!) of having a small designated section where people could discuss things without fear of the more sensitive of people getting upset and calling for the thread to be closed. It would be designated and the easily-offended would never click into it. It would also free up the main topics from being hijacked by posters who push the boundaries and end up wrecking everyone else's moderate discussions. I think its a good compromise myself.
It's a consultation for the board as a whole NUTSo. We've not discussed much less agreed a party line for mods. Your thoughts are as important as anyone else's and should be weighed with the rest. If you check through my various inputs and OPs, I haven't formed a personal view yet - only the need to get a line on how people want us to mod girlie pix, disability issues and the fact that some want OT, some don't and other some kinds of OT and not others. If you've read into my stuff that I favour a particular line at this stage then I've probably written it wrong.
We haven't formally proposed anything yet. We're still at the fact-finding stage, simply taking a pulse reading on people's views on the way the board is going atm and how developments should be modded. The next round of the review process will be to gather the salient material, group our options and form them into solid proposals ready for the board and/or the site to decide which way we're going. Sorry, I seem to be writing a lot and making less and less sense.
Yet again I don't think you've read what I've written. One for football and congenial off topic threads, the second for the less savoury ones. I don’t see any point or value in separating off the off topic threads as I think that we all enjoy them. I'm starting to lose the will to live......
Not at all Brix. Totally agree that this discussion on our board is long overdue. Consensus is obviously the most important thing going forward. We need to keep progressing as a board. I'm watching all developments and suggestions with interest. As with your good self I'm only here to serve our members as best as possible. This has to be addressed and finalised before the off season to save us from the problems we had last summer. I have a firm view on this but I'm only one person. More than interested to see how this develops.
I'd like to make a couple of suggestions for threads in the new section Cernys tits of the day (co starring northy) Cernys jailbreak app tip of the day ( a cernyberny special) Cernys fingal joke of the day (let's all laugh at swords) Cernys cross dresser of the week award (starring swords) Cernys talk to frank thread (starring DT) Cernys transfer thread (starring a club source)
I'm not convinced, yet, that the work of the Mods would be decreased. I'm reasonably sure that the usual suspects would hijack/troll/offend irrespective of the proposal to separate threads. Good luck.
A close encounter starring Staines "you've had too much to drink" and various ba check in staff (ave it)
