Leeds are a bigger club than us..... And what? We have got a better team..... Which would you prefer?
Campbell turned up with not just his original agent, he had another with him, who wanted a payout as well. They disputed the results of the medical, left the hotel, to go for lunch and never returned. Then two hours later contacted Hull City and said match this offer or I sign for Blackburn. He then said that the club had disrespected him. Now you spend as much time on here as me so you know all of this already, so perhaps you should join the debates without trying to get under the skins of posters. Nigel Pearson would be just as upset by the antics of the player, as would every sane manager. I believe, that Campbell's medical uncovered long term damage that indicated that he would not be worth a 3.5 year deal and that is the real reason behind this story.
Bit of a difference - Blackburn won the Premier League and are 1 of only 5 names on the trophy (i think). Huddersfield were good when players smoked 20 woodbines and had a pint of mild at half time. Rovers are definitely bigger than us.
Don't want to derail the thread but why is that relevant? Yes it was more recent than Huddersfield but it was still 20 years ago and affects nothing now. The real reason Blackburn are bigger than us is that they can afford to pay £8m for Rhodes, £30k/week for Campbell, etc. That's what makes them a big Championship club right now.
Its one of if not the oldest argument in football - what makes a club 'big'? Jawdies will claim it's attendance and nothing else. Others will argue it is success. The argument I always use to counter the attendance claims is who are Germany's biggest club? And who are Italy's? Until recently Schalke were ****e but always got bigger crowds than Bayern. Before their move to their new stadium Juve averaged around 20,000 fans and saw crowds of udner 1000 for UEFA cup and Italian cup matches yet have won the league twice as many times as Milan or Inter, wheres Napoli with the largest attendances now have won the league twice. People say Barca are the biggest in the world yet they hadnt even won the European Cup until the 90s. It's what makes football great in that it's all about opinions.
How about ignore him, we're better off without the prick. Shouldn't even waste our breath chanting about him.
