It was McInnes ability which was the problem. Defenders also have to rely on those in front of them. For months there was no shape to the side. When O'driscoll came in he revealed asked players what they though was wrong. Organisation was highlighted. Cisse would have still been a sticking plaster over the managers inabilty to create a team to defend with cohesion.
Funny that we all crave Cisse back and yet not many teams wanted him when he could of joined them for free. I don't blame McInnes for not getting defenders in he tried and also said he wanted some in January. The problem we have is defenders don't want to come here. Cisse was wanted by the manager and fans it was the board that would not go to his wages. We can entise forwards to join why can't we do the same with defenders. But back to McInnes his problem was he had a team that attacked and scared teams with the gung ho Keegan style but he tried to make us defensive with **** defenders. As someone mentioned SoD only got a RB which I do think is a massive improvement but he also moved out a good RB in Edwards IMO. We have now gone over a week since the loan window opened up, are best defender injured even though he is 36 and still not even a whisper of a new one coming in. SoD made the noises about round pegs in round holes can someone please point out that Fontaine and Nyatanga are left footed. And before someone says he has no choice but to use them, that's what the loan system is technically for! To replace your squad when your down to the bare bones.
ROD fontaine was used in a back 3 so it doesn't matter what foot he uses when he's in the middle. Moloney is basically a centre back but is better in the RB position. No doubt we will see a defender come in its just finding the right one. Lets hope he's out there!
So Arsenal Man U Man C Tottenham Chelsea Etc etc etc etc have not got one busting a gut for first team football? Didn't include Liverpool as we know they have one but he just didn't seem destined to play for us
It's all very well saying get players in from Man Utd/City/Gooners/Chelski etc but if they don't want to come and play in a relegation battle we won't get them
What about Manuell from Barcelona or have we got enough of them? Shiny you will have to watch Fawlty Towers to get that one mate
