We've known for a while that top gear don't show you the real lap. If you look at Jenson's lap from 06 you can see his car changes number plates a few times in the middle of his lap.
If you noticed on Sebs lap at one point the front mirror is dry and another slightly wet as if it was spitting with rain, then it was dry again.
Well considering Top Gear are unable to tell the drivers you just cant leave the perimeter of the white lines, then maybe Alonso can go on next time and cut 3 or 4 corners and beat Lewis time by about 2 seconds? Wonder if IRBR will appeal the result? *sarcasm* Be funny if they did though since Horner (or somebody else at IRBR) reads this forum considering after my rant with Jackie Stewart and Ken Tyrrell being just like Seb and Newey. A race later and Horner pretty much repeats what I said . So that's so far: Horner, Brundle and Lewis who read this forum, not bad going in my opinion. He cut it again just before the one I show above: please log in to view this image To be honest it just seems Lewis takes a better line than anybody else and can carry far more speed rather than slowing down and go around it cleanly.
Still revelling over 1.1 seconds lol. That is what he brings to Mercedes loool. And Silver I have no idea what you are on about later on in your comment.
When Jackie stewart said Seb cannot be a great unless he leaves Adrian Newey (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19969175) I then ranted on here that Jackie Stewart was a hypocrite since he had Ken Tyrrel on his side and won all his titles with Ken, yet he believes himself to be a great and every other multiple world champion in the history of the sport to be a great. A few weeks later if I remember correctly Horner comments back on Jackie with regards to his world titles and pretty much repeats what I typed.
I think Jackoe likes to use his statistic that there was a 2 3rds chance he should be dead to back that up.
Things while looking at the lap again: The grass keeps changing colour from a bottle green to a pale green... The sky keeps changing from Cloudy to Sunny... One shot at the end was like it coming towards sunset rather than the rest which looked like morning and early afternoon... How bloody long did they give Lewis to do this single lap? How does 3 laps take more than a couple of hours, let alone a couple of days it seems...
They get more than 3 pactice laps. I think it's actually 7. Silver, just get over it. Lewis was quickest, all F1 drivers cut the corners, Top Gear is badly edited, the world is not flat There is nothing more to it. To say Seb is hated is wrong. He had an exceptional welcome on TopGear and came across as relaxed, funny and genuine. You;d like to think you're the only Seb fan on here (in the UK!?) and everyone else hates him, but you are just wrong. But, it's just an entertainment program!
Might be thinking of the old system then. Maybe I am wrong with regards to the UK hating Seb as much as I believe as you rightly put. It's just a subjective point of view and not really objective which it should be in my opinion so you have to excuse me sometimes since I often put my mouth before using my brain ALOT!
I reckon they'd give the F1 drivers more laps anyway than 'normal' people. But these are F1 guys and can learn whoel new F1 tracks in a matter of laps. Top Gear circuit is nothing more than a laugh to them. Button is the one who looks really crap. Two goes in the dry and he's still slower than Barrichello, Vettel & Hamilton. One day it was too cold, the other too hot? Tyres at the wrong temperature? Couldn't get hear into them?
Anyway Seb is still the fastest Top Gear driver using the F1 drivers line and not the considered faster stig line.
