Later in the same interview he commented on the lessons he learned for the future. There was a clear air of disgust in his voice. There are players who played that will be bye-bye in the summer or if on contracts that we cannot discard will not see the inside of our locker room again. He has pride and yesterday it was hammered. Such a thing shall not be forgotten.

Those are the same players who have served us well this season. One bad result and everyone has gone hysterical.

Tke the pill, swallow it, move on.

Thought you wouldn't be interested!.......<laugh>....Hope Borini will be ok, I like the lad a lot, but he sometimes goes into tackles wildly, not thinking of how he could get injured, he was a great tonic for us in the Champioship Play-offs, anyway if we are to do anything in Europa, we'll need some deadwood shifting for sure, but Rodgers needed that result to keep the Kop in check!................<cheers>

I would put Vorm in before Tremell, but Tremell has played all the cup matches so he deserves it <ok>

Yankee there is no doubt that he was let down badly today, but surely he must have known that the way he set the side up he was going to get a rough ride, ok maybe not shipping five, but my youngest who is thirteen, said, "Have you seen the side dad?" "no way are we going to get anything today" my lad was expecting some changes, but he was very disappointed with the line up, and that was ten minutes before we kicked off, he new then we'd lost! Very painful to watch today...................<ok>

I'd like to see Tremell in the Wembley final too, I don't know if Laudrup will go with Vorm, but Tremell does deserve it..........<ok>

I think Laudrup learned about individual character and ability under stress and circumstances that he was not aware. Last night was not just about playing badly it was about personal commitment to the cause and applying oneself. He will carry that with him. Being beaten, even 5-0, is one thing while competing and applying oneself. But there is a different between being beaten by better and capitulation.

Jesus christ, what a bunch of hysterical drama queens some of you are.

For the nth time this season Laudrup puts faith and responsibility in so called reserve players usually with great success and this time it didn't work. He put faith in the same fringe players that usually performs well when needed. Yesterday they didn't perform. Get over it.

Remember back in december. Very similar XI and we won 2-1 away against Fullham. Back then Laudrup was praised for this bold move and the depth of the squad was applauded.

    NOW?

Buuhuuu...I want my money back....buhu..Laudrup costs the club millions....buhu...i'm so hurt....how could he do it...buhuuuu.

    Embarrassing to say the least.

    Rant over.

I'm just reporting on ML's comments in his post-match interview. He wasn't happy; not casually unhappy, but the sort of "unhappy" that is remembered and results in actions down the road. Time will tell.

For me, from what I saw of the game, Augustien was non-existent and Monk was as we all expected. As for the rest, time will tell.

    Totally agree!!

For all those trying to claim that yesterday was just a bad day at the office, our own goalkeeper (Vorm) described our performance as a DISGRACE. I think he is better qualified to judge.

He went on to say that, even if we couldn't win the match, we should have shown more aggression and a better mental attitude - exactly the same thing that I've been banging on about for a long time. Vorm was there. He witnessed close up what the players were doing and not doing and, if it hadn't been for him, Liverpool would have got ten. This is not acceptable in ANY team that we put out.

JdG was described in one newspaper as "walking through the game" and he wasn't the only one. Attitude, commitment and anything resembling effort and fight must have been left in Dubai because there was no sign of any of it at Anfield. What a morale boosting game to take us into training for Wembley. I don't think!!

Michael Laudrup is a winner and a proud man. His team hung him out to dry yesterday without so much as a whimper. I made the point in earlier posts drawing attention to Laudrup's ominous statement about things he had learned "for the future". I would guess that that future will not include Kemy, Tiendalli and Shechter of those that started and the rest of them will be left in no doubt of what will be expected of them in future. Certainly, quality replacements will be drafted in to challenge for some of their places.

My own view when I saw the starting side was that we would lose the game because Liverpool are a very good side on their day. No way would we do a Fulham on them with a weak side and we were VERY lucky against them being honest about it. However, like Laudrup, I did at least expect us to compete perhaps going down by a couple of goals. But the manner of the defeat, the sheer ineptitude and capitulation shocked us all.

Let us hope that it shocks us into a convincing win at Wembley.

I notice no one is spelling out the obvious ineptness of Monk second half? Ok he's been a great servant for us, but Premiership quality he is definitely not, and any of you that study the video footage as I have will clearly see, he was like a headless chicken for two of the goals, and there was another goal that both him and Bartley ponced about in the box as the Liverpool forward walked the goal in! Yes Monk looked adequate first half, but clearly he's not fit for more than 45 minutes! Bloody disgraceful defending Ramblin Jack, seen better at Junior league level.....................<laugh>

I bloody hope that Monk has either hung his boots up next season, and we give him a coaching roll, or we ship him out!........<ok>
