Aren't there competitions to see who's fastest? That means you're competing.

Rally drivers aren't "directly" competing with anyone either but they're competing against the clock. And that's definitely a sport.

Plus, why is skiing in the Winter Olympics if it's not a sport Flyer? <doh>

I believe that Toronto is still the capitol of icehockey....? Maple Leafs has always been my favourite team in NHL ans im sure, that they win Stanley Cup in near future. That would probably put Toronto City in chaos......Not so keen about NHL than i use to be because of the relatively good quality of our own icehockey-league. My own team Ässät (Aces) are currently in great form. Three weeks ago i thought that all is lost for this season, but now after magnificent seven wins in a trot they are back to fight play-offs places. So everythings is possible fellow QPR-supporters..........

Yes, but rally like skiing are not a game like icehockey....... So, once again the fastest proper game where the teams are playing against eachothers is icehockey.....

That's a fair point Igor and you are correct. However, isn't this thread about "sports" and not "games"?

Hey Igor, I've seen about half a dozen Ice Hockey games. I used to go and watch the Columbus Blue Jackets when I lived in America (only "lived" there for 3 months). I've also seen the Belfast Giants play. It really is a great game to watch mate. I have to agree, it is lightening fast. Unfortunately, just after I'd come home from the US, a girl was killed at a Blue Jackets game when the puck flew into the crowd and hit her on the head. Almost decapitated her. Tragic stuff.

    Who do you follow Igor?

(Ice Hockey might be the fastest sport in the World but can you name the fastest field sport?)

Swords just seen this post as it was way past logging off time on the laptop....Why would i mention hurling???? I've only lived here for the last 13 years....I get the geist of it but don't understand it or GAA Football for that matter.....I'll watch them occassionally but not overly fussed about either....same goes for horse racing.

I'll just put on the hard hat.........

It's F1 for me. I had no interest until Hamilton came onto the scene, but (along with many others) he got me very interested in the sport. Now hooked and watch every race (whatever the time!) and you'll often catch me with two screens up. One with footy, one with F1.

Blimey flip. You're a guy from Australia of West Indian descent WHOSE DAD PLAYED CRICKET FOR ENGLAND. Sheesh. I'm burning with curiosity- and totally understand if you don't want to share, but... don't ask don't get... can you PM me your Dad's name? (I went skiiing with in Andorra in the late 80's - I'm racking my brains to try and remember a black instructor.. and failing. Shame. That, perhaps would have been too much co-incidence!)

I could only name Jokerit from the Finnish league, at least I think they are Finnish. They never seem to be mentioned, its the Swedish league and the KHL.
