Wow, great debut for Coutinho for Liverpool today. What a promising player. Such a shame we just missed out.

To be honest I really don't care how he does. He's not a Saints player and therefore I do not give a ****.

We were never going to get him.

According to a certain pundit we were never going to get Ramirez, but we did. With Cortese's ambition I would never say never.

    EDIT: Sweet memories..! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19314163

So if I said we will never get Messi, you would say the same! ;)

    Give it time. :)

Actually, I've been watching a little bit of footage regarding Messi recently, where C Ronaldo beats him and runs away with the ball. And he just walks slowly back downfield, while all his teammates are chasing Ronaldo to get the ball back. I don't think he'd fit in..! ;)

A player it was very unlikely we'd get has played well in one game?

    Cortese out.

You might care when we play them in a few weeks' time.

But didn't Coutinho actually say at one point that he didn't want to come here? He'd have been even more of a scalp than Ramirez. Inter are a lot bigger than Bologna.

Not really. It's one game which is winnable, but a game we don't need or not expected to win. I would care if he played for someone below us in the table.

What you say is true, so in a sense, you're right, he was never going to come to Saints. What I'm talking about is the wider picture. With the ambition and financial clout that Cortese has at his disposal, if he decides to use it, no player is off the menu. Saying that, it would be ridiculous to sign someone [or even try to] like Ronaldo or Messi, [to use the example given to me] because Saints aren't near that quality level yet. But with this Exec Chairman, I could never say never, because his intention is to get there and stay there.

Hopefully, I've explained the distinction well enough. :)

You don't even care how he does against us? So if he scored 5 you wouldn't care at all?

I'd be pissed that we conceded 5 but I wouldn't care that Coutinho scored them.

Even if he is a tad better than Lallana (not saying he is) I would still play Lallana as he is Saints through and through

They are putting together a very attractive team to watch though, once they get rid of all the Brit deadwood players that is. Saurez is many things, but now he has more quality around him he really is playing well
