Yes, the Liverpool fans have been very good to be fair. I think anyone can see where por priorities lied today, I do feel sorry for the travelling fans who paid good money though
I don't think BR has done anything different, the line-up was more or less what we expected regardless of who Swansea played
The players should hang their heads in shame and chip in to reimburse the Loyal jack army that made the long trip to Liverpool and must be taking some stick off the home fans! It was a call ML made, and maybe left out to many regulars, but that doesnt excuse the fact that a majority of the 11 on the pitch didnt play their part. Players get asked for a chance to prove thier worth, well alot of them today have had thier chance and can only blame themselves if they are not at our Swansea City next season!
I would not be at all surprised if they did, although the players picked should have done a lot better....they were woeful. ML has to take responsibility for the selection, but the players are paid good money to do more than just tie up their laces.
There wont be many gloaters that know much about the game who could drop nearly all thier best players and expect to win against a pretty much full prem oposition team ? Dai it was very dissapointing that he picked the team he did but it shows how short on strength in depth we still are compared to the top 4 teams so he made a decision to maybe sacrifice this game with a long term view to get silverware and into europe as were going to stay up without realistically getting into the top 4 this season ?
With all due respect Dai, but the Bradford game is of far greater importance to Swansea next week in terms of progression and financial reward. We don't get into Europe for beating Liverpool, we do however if we beat Bradford next week. Dissappointed with the team selection today, however all will be forgoten if we lift the cup next week.
I'm sat in my car atm, and getting A LOT of stick. I don't want my money back as this is what football is all about. I'm angry, but next week will hopefully make up for today.
Couldn't agree more, yes rest players give them 45 or 60 minutes, but this strategy from Laudrup today was a tad too far, this was a setup from us today that had never played as a unit before, and it showed not only lack of respect for our travelling fans, but a complete lack of respect for Anfield too, very disappointed that we shipped so many goals, but that's the price you pay for not showing a little more respect, when going to Anfield! Let that be a lesson to us....................... PS: Are Liverpool the new Olympic Diving team? Just asking like!...................
Dai: "The liverpool game was just as important financially as the bradford game" Er..no. We may lose out on a position in the Prem but if we win the Final we're in Europe and although the prize money won't be brilliant the extra revenue from televised games and gate receipts makes your statement a non-starter. If you can stop your Brendan-worship for a second and think before you post you'd have seen that. Dragon: You're complaining about us showing a lack of respect to a team you said were a bunch of has beens before kickoff.
That was a mistake by Laudrup no doubt about it - you cant go to Anfield with such a weakened side and you cant expect fringe players to perform when most of the team is unfamiliar. 2 or 3 changes ok but not what we saw today. Interesting to see what Laudrup says abou this because this was definately NOT good preperation for our big day. Fair play to the scousers on here who are keeping it decent.
It does show one thing that all our key players that did not play today are what is keeping us where we are and that some serious spending on cover players has to be made. i dont care what anyone says we did not need to put such a weak team as that out for a league match against anyone leave alone a top club like liverpool....Lets praise laudrup when he does well but he deserves criticism when he dont....There was no excuse for that team selection, It was silly and poor and deserved to show laudrup that he got it all wrong today and we lost points we could have got with our full side....we will need players for cover in the summer thats for sure..
I'm with you 100% Dai, really poor setup today, my 13 year old said to me ten minutes before kick off, " Oh no, dad have you seen the Swans lineup?" "We definitely going to lose this one", When I looked at his iphone, I just couldn't believe it! so disjointed, but there you go hope he learns from it, but clearly Laudrup wasn't interested in getting anything here today! Shame, hope it's all worth it next week.......
Our reserves have shown today what will happen to Cardiff's 1st team week in week out next season, that's if they don't blow it again. Every cloud does have a silver lining and at least it was Liverpool and not Peterborough we were playing
Just goes to show how good we made them look!.................. please log in to view this image PS: By the way is Web a Scouser!...................
we are lucky that liverpool are not involved in the relegation places because as sure as eggs is eggs swansea would have been reported by those other clubs for laudrups selection today and we would have been found guilty no doubt about it
