He's got a lot of potential.

Injury, illness and Inter have limited his career so far. Somewhat weighed down by expectation there, but did very well on loan at Espanyol.

EDIT: Glad we came through that. Good luck next weekend, would be fantastic for you to win the cup.

I'm not worried about this match. It's well worth sacrificing this game to give us the best chance of qualifying foe Europe that we're ever likely to have. It's just 3 points. One game. If we had our strongest side out and no final next week then I would be very worried, but it's not. Several of the players know they are only playing today because they won't next week - and that is bound to have a psychological effect on them anyway.
Can't wait for the final next week.
This will seem a distant memory then.

If we play with that attitude next week Bradford will be looking forward to Europe.
    Horror show .. shouldn't happen.

While I agree this was worth sacrificing........5-0 scoreline was not.

If this is our reserves, I'm worried. If they need to be called upon again, and this is what we can expect, it's not good.

You'll win next week and today will be long forgotten.

  8. I think that is a good shout. I think it would be harsh on the club but it really isn't fair on the travelling fans. I just don't see why ML has made that many changes, you've had a weeks rest from your last game, been Dubai in midweek to give the players a break / sunshine and you don't play the cup final for another week either. That also means some of your key players won't have played for two weeks too. Crazy IMO, especially considering your up again a League Two side in Bradford (no disrespect intended) as well. Plus you was playing against a team that's just had a match in Russia!

Absolutely! That was shocking, especially from players who are likely to play next week. Fans pay good money and the least they deserve is some effort.

Huw put a hold on contract negotiations with laudrup for a little while, laudrup has made a big mistake today by leaving so many out of the starting line up. we simply do not have the quality behind our first team thank god we dont have many injuries and are not in the relegation mix

Stop your hysteria. This was a calculated decision by Laudrup and it backfired. Probably his only mistake since coming here to be fair. I don't actually blame him - I blame the players who, front to back were poor in the second half. I think the un-said message from Laudrup to this team by the very act of picking them was that he didn't mind sacrificing the points today and they took him at his word instead of actually playing for a place.

Liverpool could only beat what was put in front of them and they did with gusto. Calling them a team of has-beens as one of our more cerebrally challenged posters did prior to kick off is well off the mark and made by someone who probably rarely watches football. The addition of Sturridge and now Coutinho has made a hell of a difference.

We move on, ultimately knowing that a win next week makes little difference to whether we finish 8th or 10th. Still on course for top half imo. <ok>

May I add a big thankyou to the Liverpool fans for being gracious.......nobody, yet, has stuck our noses in it.

    Cheers.

Agreed. This could also be a blessing in disguise in terms of next season, as it shows that with competing in Europe (should we get the cup) then ML and the board need to bring in around 4-5 really good players to strengthen the side and get rid of the likes $h!ter and Kemy, who for me has been very poor lately and looked very disinterested today.
Should we win the cup next week, then this game will be all but forgoten <cheers>

This was a game that Brendan punished laudrup for his inept ill thought out team selection that did not give us a cats hells chance of scoring let alone winning the game.... a lot of rubbish is being spoken here about the game was worth sacrificing as no game is worth sacrificing especially when our next game is against a league two side......The liverpool game was just as important financially as the bradford game and more so in some respects and to put a team out like that was disrespectful to the traveling fans and to liverpool.......very poor from laudrup today with his selection and tactics and we got what we deserve.....

What today does show is if we get a few injuries to key players we simply do not have the personnel to come in to replace them. so lets hope that our huw can remember the pin for our debit card and spend some of that 14million we have stashed in the bank and get some competition going for places because i suspect barring injuries our side pretty much picks itself

  20. Good post that <ok>

It's a little strange to be called has-beens when we have so many young players <laugh>
