I know this may be a bit premature, but the season seems to be flying by.
I am sure there are some statiticians amongst you, and I was just wondering if any of you had taken a look to see who has got the 'easier' run in, and what questions the run in may bring. We all know football is a funny old game, and throws up results you don't expect, but:

    1. How many more points can you see you dropping?
    2. Can you overtake the other 2 above you?
    3. Can you be caught by others below you?
    4. Will Baadiff bottle it again?
    5. Have you, or any others around you got any '6 pointers'?

Look forward, as usual, to your comments.

I was just thinking about putting a thread on this myself....
Will be fun to do some predictiuons on run in matches.

Looks to be Cardiff plus one of Hull, Watford and Leicester for the second automatic place. On current form Watford and Leicester are neck and neck... with Hull not performing quite as well.

I would expect Watford to shade it if I was being objective ... ( But... still a long way to go........) I think outstanding matches between top 6 clubs will be very important too...

    Looks very close:

    1 12 points
    2 Not Cardiff
    3 Yes
    4 No
5 we still play away to Hull and Leicester and Cardiff at home

Other sides: I am concerned we might "do a Bristol City" again at Ipswich; Leeds at home could be a banana skin as they have something to prove and I never like our results against Derby

Cardiff are all but up - too late now for them to bottle it.
Hull, Watford, Crystal Palace and Leicster are now much the same in terms of chance of second place.
We will certainly get a play off place though at least

Only fly in the ointment would be if the FL gave us a points deduction - but that does not seem probable

Well its the Championship so how much can you be confident of predicting!

I still suspect we'll drop more points at home than away because of how we play.

Gainining points against Hull and Leicester is a strong possibility. Hull are not scoring so many at the mo. and Leicesesr are not high scorers away.....

So it is possible to pull into 2nd place... and of course we have a great confident squad with strength in depth..

Should be an exciting finish - with us having to play all three of those mentioned. If we maintain our current form, I think that seven points from those fixtures is not a big ask - Leicester & Hull must both have doubts creeping in about stopping our away performances, just as we have a few doubts about our own home performances.

Still a long way to go though, and both Palace and Blackburn are finding form - our last two games in April (Blackburn & Leicester) should both attract big crowds and TV cameras.

When you think that we were 18th at the end of September, I'm just enjoying it and it will be a good season wherever we end up but at this stage I'll be disappointed if we don't end up in the play-offs at least. Although if we did the reverse of 1999...and that run started in March.

How many points were Man Ure clear last year but Citeh caught them?
How many points clear were Newcastle a few years ago under keegan, but they were caught?
If Cardiff draw 2 matches and you win 2, that's their lead cut, and surely they would feel jittery then.

Please God no <yikes>. I'm not a religeous person, but I will be as long you don't lose to them. I couldn't cope with that. It would break my heart :emoticon-0153-broke:emoticon-0101-sadsm:emoticon-0107-sweat

From the games you mentioned Leonado, from an outsider's point of view, and from the comments I have read on this forum, it seems to me that Baadiff will be a game that you will need all the support you can get.
The away games, from what I have seen posted on here, have all been vocal, and yet your home games seem to be lacking.
Just imagine this for one moment, Hull, Cardiff and leicester all draw a couple of matches or lose one of them. You beat Hull and Leicester away. You then have Cardiff at home. From what I have read about the seemingly lack of vocal support at Vicarage Road, surely you have to raise the roof on this one.

Perhaps the answer would be to give H a microphone, ply her with Gin or caramel lattes and let her do a Saint Delia :). Now that I would pay handsomely to see <laugh>

Maestro, great idea - just one problem with it - she's not at the Cardiff game as her hubby is taking her for a weekend in Stockholm.

Seriously folks, having read some of the replies to this thread and other threads, I really hope you do go up.
This board will be a breath of fresh air to the PL forum.
How refreshing to see good honest posts as opposed to the drivel that you will see on some of the PL boards <doh>

Thanks Leo. There was a great atmosphere yesterday, so hopefully we can get some of that at home in the future. The lack of noise cannot be down to poor form, it cant be down to a lack of younger fans to do the singing. I am baffled, but I will continue to lose my voice and screaming my lungs out.

From reading some of the posts, I wouldn't mind perhaps one day going to see a Watford game, as a neutral, to experience some of the things and thoughts you have.

On second thoughts, maybe that wouldn't be a good idea, I do find it hard to stay neutral and have been known to get 'caught up in the atmosphere' so to speak.

Im sure you would be more than welcome Maestro. You could come to a game against a team who would lose out if Watford won. That way any emotion you have would fit with the watford fans. If we score you would be happy, and vice-versa. I have taken a neutral person with me before and she was fine (just very cold).
