...from the management next season? Personally I'm going with we need to be in the top 6 (or at least challenging for it) by Christmas. Thoughts?
I want to see Nige get his water bottle and ACTUALLY squirt the assistant linesman in the face with it. The would be an acceptible performance for me, but I don't mind if it's before or after Christmas.
I think it has to be Playoffs and depending where we are just after christmas we might even challange for Automatic spots
With the squad we have anything other than Play-offs would be a big disappointment really, We have no debt, A good squad with some core talent, and an owner seemingly willing to spend money like water, let's be honest, what we should realistically expect is a good attempt at promotion.
I think there'll be an expectation of a top six finish, but that will obviously depend on who we bring in between now and the start of the season. We've already made two decent signings and it seems obvious that there's quite a long list of other potential targets, some of whom we've already made offers for. The first thing we need to do is improve the quality of football at home(and the results obviously), then hopefully everything else will fall into place.
i think we will have to expect another slow start for the players to gel becuase if we are bringing in 7 or 8 players then may need time to work together as a team
Well Nige has said he wants to get all his business done early so we dont have the lag period at the start of the season
I think the management themselves be aiming for the top six and top two if things are going really well as the season progresses (after all top six was the aim this season). Who knows what will happen? After all who would have predicted Norwich going up automatically at the start of the season? Let's wait and see who we bring in and then we can guestimate as to what we should realistically expect. I think we'll finish top ten next season and pushing for the play offs. What the management and fans will be hoping for are better performances at home. If we can get that sorted as well as maintaining the type of away form that we showed this season then we'll certainly be promotion contenders.
I did think we were going to go up this year, but it seems like we aren't going to be spending loads, and NP has said he needs 6 or 7 (was it?) more players. I don't think this will be enough and the fact that a few of those signings will just be converting loans to perms doesn't convince me that we'll be much better than last season. Nevertheless, NP will hopefully pull a rabbit out of the hat regarding a few players coming in in the next few weeks, and I don't mean people like Adebola.
people seem to think after my complaints last season, that i want brazilian , flair football.. i dont, i simply want us to try and win games, and especially must win games..and not leave half the team back on the halfway line for last minute corners..(yes, thats still annoys me 4 weeks later) if we do that and still fail to make the play offs, fair enough we dont have a divine right to be there..
I'm the same, nobody's expecting us to be the Championship's Barcelona, just for the team to take more of an attacking mentality. Granted I've only been to home games and Derby away, but in the majority of those games it seemed like we had a mentality of "We start with a point, two more would be a bonus", which obviously isn't going to get you promoted.
