    Victory over Bradford in the League Cup Final will put Swans in the Europa League - where they'd be described as a team from England by organisers

    UEFA risks the ire of Swansea fans after saying the Welsh side could enter Europe with an English flag next to their name, writes the Sunday People.

    If City beat Bradford in next Sunday’s Capital One Cup final they will return to Europe for the first time since 1991.

    But there could be fury in the Valleys, after UEFA said the Liberty Stadium club would be classed as English.

    A UEFA spokesman said: “It would be up to the FA if Swansea take a Europa League position instead of an English club. If the FA give it to Swansea they will have an English flag by their name.”

    An FA spokesman said: “Swansea would qualify as representatives of the English FA.”

    absolutely nothing
    if they want to play in the epl its just a consequence they have to accept
    they should be made to march out onto the pitch behind the cross of saint George
    the dragon slayer

    It's totally fair enough IMO. If they want to play in the English league, and they qualify for Europe through that league, then they need to follow the same rules as everyone else.

    Its better for Swansea in my opinion
    If UEFA say they are from Wales then nobody in Europe would take them seriously as a football team

    They'll be playing 'Bread Of Heaven', covering the place in daffodils, rolling out Katherine Jenkins and anything else they can think of before kick off I'm sure.
