See our 2nd string isnt as bad as others in this league Logan> Jakupovic (And im not saying Logan is good) Moore < Rosenior (Rosenior is probably the better player at the minute as a right back but Moore has the potential) Whitbread> McShane (I dont rate Whitbread too much but McShane is awful) St. Ledger> Bruce (St. Ledger along with Richard Dunne is ROI's best defender) Schlupp> Dudgeon (Man U are interested in one and got rid of the other for a reason) Gallagher > Stewart (Gallagher actually does have an end product) Wellens < Evans (Would have taken the Wellens of old but his legs have gone) James = Cairney (I know very little about Cairney other then hes quality on football manager) Dyer> Brady (Brady as a winger is just full of fancy step overs and not much else) Waghorn > Prossie (No contest) Vardy<Simpson (Vardy is out of his depth and Simpson looks average so I have to give it to him)
I agree but i'd change some. Such as. Jakupovic > Logan - Jakupovic is very error prone, but he was their best player against us. He's better than Logan. Moore > Rosenior - Moore is the better player, and he's so young. He's going to be so good in the future. James > Cairney - But James is our 2nd/3rd best midfielder whereas Cairney is Hulls 3rd/4th. Brady > Dyer - End product is vital in this league. But I do think that 'on their day' Dyer is the better player. Prossie > Waghorn - Obviously. Vardy = Simpson - Both run around all game causing, sometimes, mayhem. But neither can finish their dinner.
Have we ever really seen enough of Logan to compare him to our keepers? As I remember, on the rare occasions he's come in, he's done well. James shouldn't be in our second string so that should be King or Danns.
We're in a rare position (for the teams around us) in not rotating our squad very much, not sure if this is an advantage or not. We certainly have a few quality players- Schlupp, Waghorn, King/James, Moore, who have to be content with a space on the bench for much of the team, and their lack of more regular playing time costs us when we get injuries/suspensions (thankfully that latter hasn't happened much this season. But god forbid if Morgan gets sent off!).
Apart from that clanger against West Brom in the cup the other year he hasnt really let us down. He is nowhere near the standard of Schmeichel but he is still decent back up Jakupovic just looks awkward whenever i have seen him
Can' believe im sitting here watching Huddersfield, who should have been beaten, and Wigan, who could have been beaten, instead of lcfc v Wigan, but yet another factor pointing to the fact our back up players are just not good enough, a massive opportunity missed in my opinion, but there ya go its too late now, and on top of that more tv revenue down the pan too.........
