The first in a bi-monthly series, who was better for the club...

    Demba Ba

    or

    Sebastian Bassong

The Poll has a finite time-span.

Ba - he helped get into Europa, whereas Bassong helped us get relegated.

I delayed voting until just now. Seb was a revelation the year we went down, and that tackle was worthy of Homeric penmanship, but I've still got a soft spot for Demba which gives him the edge for me.

Out of Interest, is it "Bi-monthly" as in every two months or is it twice-a-month?

It's 'bi' as in once each month, Gandalf will openly celebrate his love of men to prove he isn't just a ladies man.

Personally, I dislike anyone who leaves our club of their own wishes, not like David Kelly, or Sir Les.

Don't get them like David Kelly or Sir Les now, it's all about money.

Imagine if we had Bassong, Tiote & Sissoko in the same line-up. You'd purposely set up 50:50 tackles rather than actually pass straight to them. The oppo wouldn't last until half time.

Didn't we all. Great memories, still drool over them watching DVD's on the coach to the away games.

On the pitch both were excellent but Ba shades it for me. He scored a boat load of goals. Off the pitch Seb was a bit of a bell end at the end of his time here, with rumours about refusing to play as he wanted out, and generally having a ****ty attitude around the place. One of the ones who led Nolan, Barton, Smith etc to form a clique which would lead us out of dark times.

But then there was Bassong day? They were great times.

I've gone Ba. I'd have both back (regardless of Sebs behaviour, he was young).

David Kelly and Gav Peacock, what a combo. One had to leave for personal reasons, the other to make room for the return of Beardo.

We were really lucky in that period with strikers. Kelly, Peacock, later joined by Cole. Then Cole, Beardo, Allen, Mathie. Then Cole, Beardo, Allen, Mathie, Kitson (Cole sold in the Jan). Then Ferdinand, Beardo, Kitson, Huckerby, (Asprilla joining in the Feb). Then Shearer, Ferdinand, Beardo, Kitson, Asprilla.

We were never short of strike options under KK!! No wonder we scored so freely.

Was on a coach going to an away game when I heard about Asprilla signing, great days, goals from all over the place.
