    Right. Where do I start.

I don't intend writing a novel but here's my thoughts.

I think that it's very important to always keep in the back of your mind that we all have one common bond and that's our love for all things QPR.. Having basic respect for others must be a prerequisite to using this site. I am all for free speech but can neither stand nor tolerate individuals who throw abuse at fellow members of this board. What gives anybody the right to do that. This forum was not setup for that purpose. The fact is, that very few of us know anything about the other. It's all too easy to sit in your comfy living room and be a keyboard warrior. To protect the basic integrity of this forum there has to be house rules. A free for all forum would not work in my opinion and I know I would have no interest in posting here if that were the case.

As Mods, we have always tried to stay in the shadows. Brix has always stated that self moderation has to be the norm. He's right of course. The problem is that not enough of our members do it, resulting in one of us having to get involved. I'm sure as members the last thing that you want to see is the long arm of the Mods stepping in and closing yet another thread. If your not happy with the way a thread is going then please take responsibility and just say it on the thread.

The main reason I came to this forum was the level of good threads relating to QPR stuff. As this board evolved over time, more and more 'off topic' threads have appeared. In general I have no problem with these. However, I can't stand deliberate wumming. Opening up a new thread that you know will descend into chaos is just being childish. I for one always try to close them ASAP but I don't have 24hr access to this forum.
This IMHO needs to stop. This forum is not anybody's personal play thing. We all must take equal responsibility here.
I have to admit that I was disappointed in several of our members recently who went onto the Swans forum and posted awful abuse. While people are of course entitled to post where they wish, they ended up bringing a whole pile of retaliatory sh**e onto our forum. What did you expect? I intend talking to Brix about this as people again need to take responsibility for their actions and not bring half wits from other boards on here ruining our threads.

The language on here is now atrocious and needs to be addressed. Perhaps we can all agree to change the house rules and insert a new more specific paragraph outlining the way forward. We can't be sure that everybody who uses this forum is overage. We need to raise our standards here.

I also think that the house rules should reflect the issue of members openly and publicly calling for others to be banned. It's not on. The procedure here is very clear. If your not happy with a fellow poster for whatever reason then send a PM to the mods who will review the complaint and take action if necessary. No other method is acceptable. Give it a rest gents ( and Beth)

Nobody on here wants to see the Mods becoming involved. Take responsibility for your own actions. There's no other way. Anybody who starts a thread relating to any of the isms, knows right well that it is going to get out of hand. We have proved as a board that we are not at a stage yet where we can discuss these things openly. As individuals I'm sure we can, but on a board as diverse as this it's just not going to work. Just my honest thoughts.

Apologies. Despite my best intentions I have written another novel.

Hope I don't sound too much like a broken record.

BR: You don't mate. All very well put.

Swords. You might have misunderstood me.

I have no problem with that word, it was just that I expected you to get a reaction from the more PC brigade on here. I am glad you do not bow down to them.

    Cheers Bro!

I didn't even know I had used that word! Not the best choice to be honest. I must have been referring to Cerny! :D

Right, this part of the consultation is now over so closing the thread to make way for the next stage.

Leaving it sticky though so people can view my edits on their posts to date (bits in blue beginning with 'BR') and any contentious stuff into the new thread entitled 'QPR Board Review: Stage 2'.

    Thanks for all your responses.
