While I agree with Northolt that Beth would make an excellent mod, you should first check that Brixton and Nuts want an accomplice. As far as I can tell they are doing an excellent job although certain posters could make their life easier. I've always thought that Stan would make a good mod even if he says he is not interested, otherwise some should twist the Hawkster's arm and get him back on board. Long shots would include Woody and QPAAAGH and a little part of me hankers for Eamon to be a mod. The put downs would be glorious. However I really don't think a third mod is required. This would look better if I typed quicker......

I never intended to vote, I would only vote if you or Nuts started the thread to ask what people thought
A third mod would only be up to the current mods to decide imo. It's their workload, and lately there seem to have been another round of unnecessary mod work for Brix and Nuts to attend to. If they saw the need for help I'm sure they'd reach out to the right member. I'm just glad we have who we have "in charge". An unthankful task, I'm glad it's not my job. Agree though that Beth would be an obvious and excellent choice if push come to shove.

That's very obliging of you Nuts. But I think its ridiculous having not even asked you guys before doing this. Stamford, are you feeling alright? He'd be my choice too in the event of either of the current Mods stepping down in future. Those three would be able candidates also as would Matt.

On another more sober note. It's our duty as posters to pin point as to when and where a thread is going awry. If we all did this then there would be no need for a third mod. For instance. Has anyone else seen a seemingly un-assuming thread that is coasting along nicely and suddenly take a u-turn? I know I have done it. Your reading through and enjoying a seemingly innocuous and entertaining thread and then suddenly.... Bang!!! All hell breaks loose. You scamper back through the page(s) to how, what and who instigated it. It's at that point we should all step-in and gently point out that post is unacceptable. Having done that, and if the poster continues we have all done our bit. Then it is up to the mods to take it up from there. They can't be on here all the time, so it's down to us to ensure our enjoyability of our board. It is after all here for all of us to enjoy and cherish. We should not be made to feel that we can't post on a thread because it's been hi-jacked. Whether you feel that a poster is out of order regardless of pre-conceived allegiences or fear of alienation or as a potential target in the future, good will overcome bad if we all do the right thing. After all. We all share one common goal. URsssss. That is all.
