Thanks Ardent and STH, I think he was lucky to win as nothing went right. He should really have been sent on earlier to make use of his stamina, for as Dex pointed out a mile is his minimum, when things did quicken up he also ran into trouble and got stopped briefly. Luckily he just had enough time to hit stride before the line. I feel had it gone on a furlong he would have pulled well away. In my opinion he will be worth following, as will his conquerer in his previous race.

 

What a cracking bumper race at Ascot tomorrow with Swing Bowlers half brother RED SHERLOCK taking on the equally impressive CAPTAIN CUTTER. This time tomorrow the \festival bumper could have a new favourite!

 

BLACK N BREW is a tasty price in the 8.20 Dundalk and Alvar winning the race before has certainly done no ham to the form!
