Only idiots would look at the table and claim that our last season was just a flash in the pan and now we've been given a dose of reality.

Injuries and Europe have both played a big part. For Christ sake we just bought Gouffran and he gets snapped and out for 2 weeks! It's the story of our season.

The talks of top 4-6 this season weren't irrational at all. We were just aiming for a place one above or below than we finished last season.

On top of that, the club have learned a valuable lesson this season that if you want to stay up top you need to spend money.

I'm glad we've had a season like this season, because it will be something to look back on in the future. Hopefully this season will be another chapter in our long term journey.

It doesn't surprise me to see such stupidity from you lot, but I realise you're most likely trolling.

Every time I see a post from you and have a lot at your age I can't help but laugh.

He has 5 league goals in 24 games this season doesn't he? You were on here so much stating how "Ba was our second top scorer" and that our second top scorer is someone elses player - well Ba is your top scorer and no longer plays for you? I wouldn't swap the Cisse that is currently playing for you for any of our strikers - I watched him last night and he missed some sitters! Last season he looked excellent but I think he's been found out now and just isn't good enough

He had 4 chances yesterday and scored two but was wrongly called offside for both.

If a striker puts away 50% of his chances, then that's a good sign. It's also stupid to only count his league goals, he's been scoring in other competitions, mainly Europe. Since late december, including the two that should have been given yesterday, his record is about 1 goal every 2 games.

If he was as good as he was last season on a regular basis, he'd be the best striker in the league. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Ba was given the main striker spot and given all the attention, and Cisse was subjected to playing a less important role, wasn't getting the same chances and support, and his confidence has dropped.

Suarez misses is fair share of sitters, but puts 1 or 2 away in important games. Cisse misses some good chances, but puts some away also.

What can he do if he's denied perfectly good goals?

To be fair, Cisse was fairly hard done by last night.

He's an instinctive striker, I never expected him to score when he was through 1 on 1 with the keeper and he didn't but he put two away that should really have been given. He has no confidence though, he's been playing either right wing or just on the shoulder all season and he's had very little luck. Last season he'd have been much more alert to his positional play, he's caught offside maybe 5/6 times per game now, that's a tell-tale sign of a striker in need of confidence, always trying too hard. His natural ability to finish instinctively though, you can't teach that.

Missing sitters isn't a big deal, RVP is the best striker in England by a million miles and he missed a banker against Madrid.

Graham, great buy for me, a like for like replacement for Fletcher off the bench and a decent poacher. These type of strikers don't link up well with continental flair players, they're better off on their own. I doubt Graham is part of O'Neill's fantasy 11 that he envisages, he's a squad player but a good one who offers goals regularly. I do agree though to some extent, I'd be worried if he expects them to link up well regularly for 90 mins, everything points to them standing on each others toes.

RVP is the sort of striker than when the ball is in the box, he tucks it away. Cisse is the sort that will snap a shot first time and plant it in the net.

He'll not consistently run in on goal and place it past a keeper, but look at this 2nd goal. First touch finish, and that's the sort of goals he scores.

Does it really matter how a player scores? If you put away 2/4 chances, you're doing well. Suarez missed 3 out of 3 last night and sealed Liverpool's exit from the competition.

You say he has been scoring in Europe well he hasnt. 1 in 5 is pretty poor. Sorry I know more about your team than you do but please dont slate people for making up facts to suit their arguments then go and do the same yourself.

Not entirely true. Cisse is good at scoring offside goals.

You clearly know nothing of Steven Fletcher. Infact, this post merely cements our perception of your intelligence to be commensurate with that of a freshly laden cowpat.

Danny is a better striker than fletch anyway but he cant prove that until he gets his chance....once that happens then fletch will be the one on the bench....

Give Tash a break lads and lasses: he is not exactly the brightest bulb in the box and therefore should be pittied..

I dropped reading at the factually inaccurate 'both players are over 6ft'.

    Graham isn't.

Actually, I was counting the 2 he should have had last night to seal us the tie, so I didn't make up anything. So that would make 3 in 5.

A striker can't do anything if his goals are being unfairly ruled offside. If we're talking about form and putting chances away, then he's doing that on a decent basis.

His strike ratio in all comps since late december is around 1 in 2. He's scoring in both the PL and Europe. <ok>

He's also been playing vital roles in our build up play, so even when he isn't scoring, he's creating goals.

    I actually thought he was 6ft 2, but I just looked it up. He's 6ft 1.

Look on Wiki, Soccerway, say 1.8 metres (5 11), SAFC.com, to be fair says 183cm, which would make him exactly 6foot.

As I believe SAFC will know their own players, you win this one you ****bag, but you still had it wrong ;)
