    I note that there is a programme on BBC1 this evening called Saints and Scroungers. Do you think it is a programme about us and our former rivals?

    With regards to our new rivals I note that Reading are doing well in the play offs and it looks as if next year we will only have B&HA to play as serious local rivals!

    Bournemouth aren't out of it yet....Don't write them off..........Pompey will still be there no matter what league they or we are in. You will not be able to ignor them!! They will see that they are in your particular face if not mine .............<laugh>

    I agree with you and I do hope Bournemouth make it although to defeat Huddersfield away is a big ask.

    Anything is possible if you come out with desire to snatch a win from the home team! Dont write Cherries off yet ...It's only 1 goal difference!

    I checked with my 10 year old boy (who for the record has overtaken me in "stattoness"). To do this I carried out an experiment: I held up a large selection of his match attax cards one at a time. These cards included a few present and passed Pompey players. As I held up each card I asked him to give an opinion on each player by making a noise to indicate his feelings...
    ...Result: Pompey are still our rivals as dictated by the booing and hissing of 10 year old Ollie. End of. It's official.

    Nice argument and explanation Godders, but you can't beat the logic of a 10 year old.

    Well , St Godders has certainly got us going. I think I will agree to his analysis when;

    The local derby is not a sell-out
    The thuggery from both sides decide not to bother.
    There is no cheer greeting Pompeys being thrashed elsewhere, at St Marys and vice versa.
    Oh and we are not playing in the same division.

    He might be proved to be right eventually, but it's a bit early to say. We are on the up and Pompey's ground, lack of facilities and money do leave them, well, "hampered" :)

    Our rivals are the team we are due to play next - that is the here and now so I'll let you know who our rivals are when the fixtures are announced. I therefore don't expect Pompey to be rivals beyond the coming season.

    Hampers are full of tuck. Sandwiches may be inside, amongst the other treats, but they are classed as tuck, as is everything else that's edible inside the hamper.

    In my world at least. It's an ideal I hold very dear.
