It's understandable that Ipswich fans would have no objections! Let's be honest, to talk to the bloke next to you you'd need a bloody megaphone!

The style Who-tun is playing, the norwich fans should be campaigning to bring a mug of horlicks in the ground!

Better than the old Megaphone gag Dave, even better why don't you employ the oppo's goalie as a beer wallar (sic), might keep him warm.

The oppo goalie could spend the whole game at the bar and have no worries! <cheers>

you said drinking is legal, therefore people should be allowed to drink in the stadium. surely the same rules would apply to smoking? both are bad for your health, both can affect those sitting around you.

Hands up people on here who has ever watched a match on the tv in a pub? have you ever been struck by a flying glass then? surely that is even more unsafe because they would be glass rather than a plastic glass.

Sorry but just read your post again!

Are you saying then that Pubs should also be banned because drinking can affect those sitting around you?

**** sake. what happens to some people when they've had a 'few too many'? its not a difficult concept to deal with!

like i say, i was totally in favour when i first found out but reading other fans views i think it would be a mistake to re-introduce it into the ground while watching the match. sadly, there are more cons than pros in this debate. i'd much rather have the re-introduction of standing areas made a priority than allowing watered-down, expensive beer in my hand at a match.

my point is, if you are in a pub and people near you are roudy, you move or go to another pub or whatever. in an all-seater stadium you are stuck next to the same person every week. now imagine that the guy or girl you sit next to drinks like an elephant but copes with it the same way my old dear handles her christmas glass of sherry... a frightening prospect! <laugh>

I can understand why Norwich fans are so dead against this, just imagine the havoc Delia would cause!

I heard there was a proposal from Norwich to allow alcohol in the stands swiftly withdrawn after the 'let's be 'avin you' disaster!

i think it's embarassing for the UK that we can't allow it. in Spanish grounds you can drink during the game. it's the minority that ruins it for the 90% as usual.
