Gareth Barry's intentional own goal, the referee in celtics game vs Juventus. When I watch football now the fixing is so blatant it's more bent than horse racing.
I'd be more inclined to think a game is fixed if Gareth Barry scored a goal at the other end of the pitch, the bloke is a cast iron donkey, I'm only surprised he doesn't score more goals of the same nature.
Yet he will still play for England before Cattermole!! (And I know for certain that Catts is a far better footballer in every sense of the word than Barry!!)
Marcus I reckon Barry would be out of his depth in the SPL! I can't see what he does so great to justify him being in picked at this level so much. Back to the topic though, I presume there will be an element of cheating involving corruption in every sport. My guess would be that it would more than likely come from the lower leagues where players and staff are on less money and they get trapped by the incentive of money. I find little motivation at EPL level to throw games considering the money most of them earn nowadays. It wouldn't surprise me if the FA are turned over sooner or later though, not to do with match fixing but I bet a lot of their funding mysteriously 'disappears'.
Excellent, so every time a defender or a goalie fluffs it in the last 10 minutes of a match people are going to assume a middle-eastern /Indian gambling cartel have just donated a Lamborghini
Gareth Barry's own goal was definitely deliberate. Why is everyone so reluctant to admit it? is it because they don't want to admit to being conned?
They aren't fixing results. it's on daft things like a certain team conceding a corner between the 35th and 40th minute. Things that are really hard to prove. I reckon it's the bookies fault for digging their fingers in and dragging people down. you can bet on anything now and it's wrecking peoples lives. The Bookies deserve everything they get. shame it ruins sport in the process.
