  1. I can remember making an article about this exact same thing. It's ridiculous. If people are offending by swearing they should **** off to the family area.

I got an update hot off the press. My wife phoned the club and after 30mins. got to talk to a real person. A girl who then went and asked someone to talk to Customer relations who knew exactly what it was all about and will write to me in a paper letter within the week. Meantime my tickets have been put on hold. It never ceases to amaze me. They send out E Mails. When you send one back it will not go to the person who sent the original. Just into a big pot where people pick them out and deal or not. So no-one is to blame for overlooking mails. You cannot contact anyone with an IQ over 16.2 verbally by any direct route and must write on paper and mail it. This is designed to prevent you bothering them. We shall see. I am very resilient.

Swearing one of two times in the heat of the moment is to be expected, if its constant swearing i can see how people get annoyed. i swear, but i still get annoyed if every other word that comes out of someones mouth is a swear word. there needs to be a compromise. people cant say if you dont like swearing dont come to the match, they paid for their ticket just like you did. there needs to be a common courtesy.

Im not rereading your article... but i vaguely remember it, and im sure you said yourself the guy had asked you stop. i see no problem with that. didnt he have a wife and daughter present and therefore asked you to tone down your language?

I was asked to tone it down by a young guy as well. Because his Gran was there. I did as well and apologised. But it was'nt them that complained to the club. His Gran is there every week and she kinda expects a certain amount and is freindly and philosophical about it. I think it was him that was protecting her more than anything. Good on him as well. I agree that sometimes it may be a bit OTT and i do think that i am not OTT. Or certainly try not to be. Once or twice i may get a bit hot. But not too much.

I can understand toning it down when children or elderly are present out of respect, but if Nancyboy McMincerson wants people to tone swearing down out of the blue he should take a look around.
The North East was, still is and still will be for a good while yet, working class. I challenge someone to stand at Grey's Monument for five minutes and tell me they haven't heard someone in conversation walk past and swear. I admit it's lazy at times; it can also be a lack of vocabulary knowledge for some, but it's the language and culture that we live in. If someone wants to avoid that they should sit in the family enclosure or I would have said the posh seats, but when I was sat there some of the businessmen were worse than those in the Gallowgate & Leazes combined!
Also it incenses me that nevermind just having a word with you yourself & telling you to tone it down, they just straightaway grass you up to a steward like some smarmy teacher's pet or more like a modern version of the Hitler Youth in footballing form.

    ****s.

At the Wolves game. Which was my next game after the Arsenal one tha started this (as i said i work away) i gave it the Linesman you jolly cad bit and scoundrel etc to the Wolves team. It will have gotten across to the pinko that whinged and everyone else had a good laugh. Puke faced git is the bloke to my 3rd right i think as he seems to belong in the corner of an internet cafe perving. I will let you all know what this belated reply from the Customer relations mangaer says. I have a sneaking suspicion he will be the same as the Afrikaaner HSE Security manager Stoker or whatever. If he was a proper HSE chap he would be in a proper job like me.

I have eventually had a reply to my original complaint. This has taken since February. Around 12 phone calls and several mails. I had a reply from the Head of customer operations. Simon Esland. Obviously this only means corporate customers as he has ignored me for months. He has also not answered my letter satisfactorily as he probably could'nt be bothered and i was condemned out of hand by both him and his sidekick HSE security guy Steve Storey. So i will not be buying any more season tickets for me and my wife as i will not be dictated to by these jobsworths or condemned by liars. It thoroughly *****es me off that these ****ers can spoil one of my favourite days out. (masochist eh) All of my life i have been going and it comes to this. So it's TV in the pub from now. I am though going to write to the Manager of the place and cause a stink everywhere i can as i am guilty of nothing that millions of supporters don't do every single week.

  9. I'm sorry to here that mate, i'm also hacked off with people bitching about swearing. People that can't handle it should **** off to the family area.

There's a father and his daughter that complain about me, however, there's this mental tosser about 4 rows down that runs down the stairs and shouts "**** off you ****ing ****er you don't know what the **** ya on about man", shouting and balling, and no one says anything about him and he's not even had a warning!

****ing hate ****ers that cry about that sort of thing.

Sorry to hear about that. <ok>

To be honest, if I am near any kids I tend to keep the language clean.

  11. Yes but the daughter that's near me isn't 8 years old, she's like 17.

If it was a baby, then i might have watched my language more, but seriously there are even young kids that tend to swear.

If people are that bothered, they should move away from it, because swearing is what most people do at matches, it's part of the game in my opinion, people from working class areas especially will swear and it shouldn't change just because more kids are turning up.

There's a family section, and Mike Ashley is even sacrificing our beloved Leazes corner to turn into a ****ing family/young peoples area. They should go there so we can carry on expressing ourselves.

    Absolutely ridiculous.

It reminds me of a visit to Belle Vue to see City play Doncaster in League One in January 2005.

My dad and I, plus a few of his mates, were watching Hull get battered and one of the guys I was with shouts something at one of the players, along the lines of "why the **** has he come on? He's a ****ing **** ****". Now bearing in mind this was a terrace full of middle-aged men, with only the odd kid (such as myself), you wouldn't expect anyone to mention it. But no. The ONLY woman in the crowd, some great big brute with ham-fists and a face like a Grizzly Bear starts THROWING ****ING PUNCHES at him! Then for 10 minutes, he's stood there, unable to move because there's 2,000 plus Tigers fans, trying to stop this menstrual old cow and her husband assaulting him for swearing once!

    Ah.

Insulted their lodger. Possibly thought that if rumours persist he is in fact '****e' then he'll be sent packing and they miss out on rent for a while.

Sound financial policy (minus the fisticuffs of course).

I am not that bad bye the way. There are plenty worse than me. If all people that swear, were not there they would be getting around 732 people at the game

In that case, tell them to pipe down and ask the lass out lol. I think attitudes should change if more and more kids are coming. They are the future fans themselves!! Being "working class" is no excuse for swearing but emotions can run high. I mean, there are black and asian fans coming to the game now, before they were coming, racism in the stands was prevalent. If we take your line of thinking then maybe monkey chants would still be going around..... Like I say, in the heat of the moment (when shola messes up again) then it is ok. A barrage of swearing though is not on in my opinion.
