Quote "people put a negative spin on things " I find it hard to see how to put a positive spin on tuesday night.. might be just cynical me though..
very true IUTBJF ... you can wrap a turd in silk and tie it up in ribbons and bows ... but it's still a turd and stinks like one ... Charlie; Do not, I repeat, do not, interpret this as Valentine's day advice in any way, shape or form ...
I'd say things like this are putting a negative spin on things... "City have lost their last two games, which have seen them drop out of the automatic promotion places and crash out of the FA Cup at the hands of Huddersfield on Tuesday night." Of course it's true, but it's worded in a very negative way, don't you think? We didn't drop out of the automatic places as a direct result of our loss to Posh, we dropped out when other teams played an extra game. And "crashed out" is a bit extreme! In my humble opinion...
I'd agree with you on the negativity aspect - the more worrying thing for me is that in the two cup games against Burton (Capital One) and the Udders the other night, the overall performances have stunk as much as IUTBJF's Grandad is likely to if he doesn't wake from his long nap ... highlighting the lack of depth in our squad - yes, if we get our first choice XI out we look very good at Championship level - but toothless displays like those two mentioned and indeed, the Posh game, are very worrying - I've mentioned Blackburn before as worrying me by their capacity for a late charge ... this was their line-up at Brighton: Kean Orr Martin Olsson Dann G Hanley Lowe Danny Murphy Markus Olsson DJ Campbell Jordan Rhodes Colin Kazim-Richards Substitutes Usai Giles Givet Morten Gamst-Pedersen Williamson Morris Nuno Gomes David Goodwillie ... not only is the first XL full of quality - the bench is also formidable.
Problem is, Vardy needs to be loaned out for game time. But if we were to bring on one striker, i would rather bring him on. He might not score many, but at least he lookd dangerous and his running causes problems. I know he didnt score, but look how close that header was against Huddersfield.
Vardy nearly cost us 2 points against Middlesbrough by giving away that Peno. A short term loan will be the best option and then get him back for the run in with hopefully some form and confidence
I have a positive spin. We're out of the cup so a less congested fixture list, no more sideshow distractions, less chance of picking up injuries and less chance of player fatigue. Plus we got to see Futacs, who all the fans had been crying out to see, in a no-damage scenario.
Thank you for helping out Moulton - you'd think our more intelligent fans would be aware that you are not allowed a squad of 40! sarky buggers ...
.. one minor detail IUTBJF ... he has no feet ... apparently they got lopped off by some careless earlier digger when the original churchyard was dismantled prior to the car park being laid.... I'm avoiding any analogy to Oscar Pistorious for obvious reasons at this point ...
