i would like all fans opinions on these 2 players, we bought Powell from crewe for a reported 4 million pounds from Crewe, everytime i've seen him play for us, he looks good on the ball, calm under pressure, likes to score, i've been impressed with him, the thing is he's too good for the reserves, maybe Fergie thinks a year there will do him the world of good and he'll hopefully step up to the first team, England are lucky to have a player like him, if i were to compare him to a player it would be Lampard, pressure i know but he reminds me of him. Whereas with Sterling, he's played over 20 games for Liverpool this season, at the start of the season, the press were saying he is the next big thing, he's only young, his form recently has been ****, he was quiet against us last month, but i can see him playing for his club and his country for the next 10 years if he steps up his performances. my overall thoughts are, i would rather have Powell, and no, i'm not saying it because he plays for United.
Powell has a far superior goalscoring ratio for United than Sterling does for Liverpool. I have evident for proving.
Class at what exactly, running fast? His passing is average at best, his first touch is often poor and he has the body strength of a wet sock, all he does is runs fast but even then he often runs in to bad areas, to say his end product has been poor is being generous.
Was going to say the same thing. But then I realised he must mean he's class at knocking up you girls and then giving them the occasional hiding as he's class at **** all else.
If he was truly a class act he would have more than enough skill to have a good first touch now, Micheal Owen at that age had a killer first touch, he also made excellent runs, he really was a class act, Sterling is just a quick player that will cause problems with his speed, nothing more, not saying he is a bad player but far from a top class talent in my opinion.
Ok perhaps 'class' was an overstatement, but he's better than Powell at this moment, surely you see that?
He's getting more first team football at a team that has less competition for places so it's obvious most people will say he must be better, but he's a victim of the English media unfortunately, they have put him on a pedestal as the next savior of English football after running quickly down the wing a few times when in reality he is a young, quick player who even Liverpool have benched quite a bit lately.
