Higgs welcomed the largest crowd at the Memorial Stadium in a league game for three years when 8,527 arrived for a 2-1 victory over Barnet for a Friday night game at the start of February. The switch to from the traditional Saturday afternoon slot was such a resounding success will persuade Higgs to consider staging further Friday night games next season â but the chairman is hoping to break the 8,000 barrier again when Rovers play at the Memorial Stadium on a Saturday for the first time in over a month this coming weekend. Higgs said... "There is a feel-good factor around the club right now and if the team can keep doing the business on the pitch it will persuade people to come along and be a part of it. We just hope that we continue to see a similar amount of people come through the gate for the Wycombe game on Saturday". Compliments of the Evening Post.
I'm working Saturday but hope to be home in time to go I've got a ticket for the Rotherham game though which should also be a big crowd
imteresting to see higgs state he would be looking into more friday night games next season. hope we do as always find the evening atmospheres better than saturdays.
Cant make this Saturday as I have to start a disco by 7:30 .... and I won't get home until about that time .... But I will be doin the Rotherham game on Tuesday!!!
A disco Rhino sounds a bit 70's. As for Wycombe Rocky every team has an off game you are still 3rd form team over the last 6 games.Bradford got lucky and caught you cold.I am sure Gareth Ainsworth will have them fired up for Saturdays game. 8000 seems a bit high Mr Higgs, as we have no extra ticket offers like the Barnet game probably get around 5800 even that sounds on the high side. Its going to be tight either 1-0 or 2-1 which way you decide. COR
I reckon we'll get 7k as Wycombe will bring a few, unlike Barnet. Fancy restarting the attendance comp CoR?
i think 8000 is also asking for a bit much but we got the happy hour in the bars before and after and the meal deals going on which makes things cheaper for the wycombe game. saturdays will pick up the fans that cant do evenings during the week due to work and school. but the evening games picks up those who cant do saturdays like those who plays football themselves. i think 7000 is also a push but wont be far off. but tuesday vs rotherham should do well like barnet game because of the offers.
Yeah I think there will be more at the Rotherham game there's just something about a midweek game always seems a bit livelier
