Rickie Lambert is the best all round offensive player in the league for me.

Not sure on Ramires personally, he is a cracking physical specimen and can finish well, but I'm not convinced about him from a technical viewpoint, chiefly his passing. Still think he's a very good player, but don't think I'd have him amongst the top five centre-mids in the Prem let alone the world.

Gareth Bale has everything... first touch, lightning pace, intelligence, finishing and vision..it's frightening to think how good he will be at his peak.

Van Persie for me, as well. In addition to his league-leading goals total, he's near the top of the charts in assists...defenses swarm to him, and as a result he creates an awful lot of opportunities for teammates.

Now, most important to their team? Bale. Without him, Tottenham would likely be facing an uphill battle for sixth.

Agree. RVP is a great striker but Bale has it all!

How? Schneiderlin is making 3+ times as many tackles and interceptions per game. Winning more aerial battles. And Toure has barely any goals and assists considering the amount of times he goes wondering forward. He has 4 goals having 2.1 shots per game whereas Schneiderlin has 3 goals with 0.8 shots per game. Yet Schneiderlin isn't rated at all by neutrals whereas Toure is world class? Yaya Toure is massively overrated. I would say Kompany, Aguero, Dzeko, Tevez, Zabaleta are more important to Man City than Toure. Another massively overrated player they have is Joe Hart. Yaya Toure doesn't care or try half the time either. Or maybe he just doesn't have the stamina to run more than he does. Schneiderlin has covered the most ground of any player in the league.

So that makes him better than Yaya Toure and every other player then? <doh> Toure has not (like most City players) reached the level he was at last season. Last season Toure drove through midfields at will, on many occasions setting up goals. Just because he has been below par this season, doesn't mean he's over rated.

Statistics don't tell the whole story though, Yaya Toure really is a quality player. I still find it amazing how someone of his size and physical build can be so technically gifted as well as fast - although he doesn't have the acceleration of a smaller player, when he's at top speed he is unbelievably fast (similar to Guly). On his day (Sunday was not his day, clearly), he can play for two CMs due to his physical and technical presence, really not overrated.

The sheer stupidity of this post astounds me. There is no way any manager in the world would pick Schneiderlin over Yaya. Yaya toure was the driving force behind city's title win.

Yes, Morgan is very good, very underrated and will keep getting better and better. But he is nowhere near the top 10 CM's in the world yet, whereas Yaya is easily top 3.

I don't think he's easily top 3. Xavi and Iniesta would take 2 of those places in pretty much everyone's mind, so there's only space for one more. You could make good cases for Hernanes, Fabregas, Alonso, Pirlo, Schweinsteiger, and a few others.

Not convinced Hernanes is as good as Fabregas, Pirlo, Alonso, Schweinsteiger, Yaya Toure etc. He's good but he's not world class IMO.

Well even so this probably cements my case even further. Just because Toure hasn't been at his best in recent weeks doesn't mean the Schneiderlin is a better midfielder!

For me Yaya Toure is number 3 though. Last season he was absolutely incredible.

    No mention of Michu?

Other than the obvious (RVP and Bale), I'd go for Michu, Fellaini and Mata

Can't believe some people are naming SRL as the best attacking player in the league. His record for us is incredible, but there have been several strikers and attacking players who have bashed in goals in the lower leagues, done well first year in the top flight and then struggled. Perhaps if he scored 15+ this season and next then he can be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of RVP or Aguero, but until then i think this is simply delusional.
