In Higgs report today on the OS calling for us all to pack the Mem on Saturday, he gave the news that the secretary of the states deadline on the sainsburys application has been delayed from 15th Feb to 26th Feb. Irritating.

With the finishing post in sight there's too much horsing around going on.
Those with a blinkered view have had their chance; so I reckon it's odds
on that we'll have the builders under starter's orders before the year's out.
All Pickles has to do is check the weights and then we say goodbye to our
Filton Avenue neighbours and at last find a stable home a few furlongs
    up the road.

Did he give any reason for the delay?

CHAIRMAN - HELP US FILL THE MEM ON SAT

Nick on performances and fantastic support

It was another fantastic display last Saturday which saw our recent unbeaten run extend to five games.

It was a different type of win from some of the previous performances, and the lads really had to dig deep and battle hard on a very heavy surface.

Lee Brown did amazingly well to keep his nerve and slot home from the penalty spot – not once but twice! – and some quick thinking from David Clarkson allowed Eliot Richards to finish things off with another last minute goal.

Our new attitude and application is exemplified by our recent spate of last minute goals. We now display a never say die attitude, which keeps us battling to the very end of every game.

And the level of support that made the way to Oxford was phenomenal. We took more supporters away than many teams in our division get for a home match, and it makes me extremely proud to be associated with Bristol Rovers. It was wonderful to hear Goodnight Irene ringing out around the Kassam Stadium.

Now we need to pack the Mem again like we did against Barnet. We were all overwhelmed with the level of support we got that night, and if we could get up around those numbers again on Saturday it would be fantastic.

We don’t need to go into what happened earlier in the season when we took on Wycombe as every game is now equally important as we look to keep this run going and pick up another three points.

I was delighted to hear that John Ward has been shortlisted for the manager of the month award for January. John deserves great recognition for the work he has done since he joined the club at the end of last year.

He has completely galvanised the team, and got everybody, both on and off the pitch, pulling in the right direction. Most importantly he has brought the old Bristol Rovers spirit back to the club.

Tom Parkes has also been nominated for player of the month for his role in our revival. Tom has been instrumental in helping to make our defence a more solid unit, and his leadership skills have been invaluable to us.

I was disappointed to hear from J Sainsbury’s representatives that the Secretary of State has extended the timetable for his review to 26 February 2013 due to the timing of the last receipt of information. Although this is frustrating I do believe that this is only a procedural issue.

So please come on down to the Mem on Saturday and help John and his team as they push to keep this current run going.

And keep an eye out for our new Gas Greeters who will be situated around the stadium to help you with any queries you may have on match day. Modelled on the Olympic Games Makers, the aim is to make your match day experience as enjoyable and easy as possible.

Although we all know that another three points will be the best way to do that!

Procedural - no need to sweat.

However, if that fat bastard Pickles even thinks about calling in the decision he will meet the same end as his twin brother, Jabba the Hut, did in Return of the Jedi! <grr>

A Lib Dem councillor still trying to put a stop to it!!!
    http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.ph...am-and-his-continued-anti-sainsburys-message/

He has posted the comment below to rally support to persuade Eric Pickles to block the planning permission. Perhaps we could rally support and use the same email addresses to show our support of the 'go-ahead for Sainsbury's.

If you would like to add your voice to those requesting this application be
"called-in", then you can send an email to the National Planning Casework Unit
and copy it to the Secretary of State (Eric Pickles). The email addresses are
    below:

    [email protected]

Good Luck with your support, I think it is important for us to RALLY ROUND and write in urgently.
